This set of petite 8-1/2-by-5-1/2-inch bakers is perfect for making individual portions of lasagna, potatoes au gratin, or roasted fennel. The dishes are made from local clay in Burgundy, France, using a pottery tradition that has been alive since 1850. The clay is an excellent material for retaining heat, so lasagna keeps its warmth in these dishes as you gather your guests to the table. The dishes have cream-colored interiors and painted exteriors that are covered with a translucent glaze, creating a rustic-looking finish. The glaze is lead-free and won't crack, discolor, or scratch. These bowls go safely into the freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and under the broiler, and are very easy to clean. I love these because they can never tip over and cause food to spill---very important in our household of little boys. I serve everything from rice to spaghetti and desserts in these. I have 16 pieces and they are used everyday by our 6 and 4 yo boys. They are attractive and practical. Love them!!!!!

These little baking pans are wonderful!
One is the perfect size for a Jiffy type cornbread.
Since I usually prepare dinner for just the two of us, I can often use the baking dishes to prepare and serve individual portions of many dishes.
Even my husband commented on how nice they are and they clean up so easily.

Since I have become a "Toaster Oven Gourmet," I have been seeking smaller casserole and baking dishes for baking and serving. These are just perfect.
Heavy and well-made, white to match all my dishes and excellent heat conductors make these an excellent choice for toaster oven baking. I use them at least twice a week for lasagna, pot-pies, shepherd's pie, as well as plain roasting of poultry and vegetables. I have also made fruit pies, albeit not the classic round shape. They cook evenly and are very easy to clean. Great size for the freezer, too.
Recommend highly.
