Aspiring as well as accomplished bakers will appreciate the "baker's dozen" items in this comprehensive set. All 13 pieces are made of vitrified, non-porous white porcelain that spreads heat evenly and won't craze or discolor. Traditional French-style ribbing gives the vertical sides of the ramekins and other dishes an attractive look as well as a textured surface for secure gripping with oven mitts. To top it off with just a touch of color, a simple line of royal blue trims the rim of each piece. The set consists of the following round dishes: four 3-ounce ramekins, a good size for sinfully rich chocolate mousse; four 5-ounce ramekins, perfect for individual quiches or creme brulee; 1-1/4-quart souffle (2-1/2 inches deep) for cheese souffle or macaroni and cheese; and 2-quart casserole dish (3 inches deep) with integral handles and a domed, fluted lid, perfect for a baked rice pilaf. Also included are two rectangular bakers, one with a pronounced rim and rounded interior corners that measures 9-1/2 by 7-3/4 by 1-3/4 inches, and the other with straight, rimless sides that measures 11-1/2 by 8 by 1-3/4 inches.
