Hold up to 3.8-qts.About Emile Henry... In the Burgundy region of France is the legendary maker of fine French cookware named Emile Henry. There, potters still hand craft each piece from the local Burgundy Clay - one of the purest of clays, and finish each one with a process known as CERADON, which makes them extremely solid and durable. Containing no lead, the clay is one of the best materials for baking and serving.
Amazon.com Review Sized at 10 by 3 by 15 inches (12-1/2 inches in length excluding the two handles), this large baking dish is perfect for lasagna, enchiladas, and other favorites casseroles. Color saturates the outside of the baker, while the inside and top of the handles are glazed a bright white. The Ceradon ceramic is so durable that the pre-filled dish can go right from the freezer to the oven, saving preparation time. The extra-smooth glaze makes greasing unnecessary and clean-up especially easy. Provencal bakeware and dinnerware pieces come in several colors for contemporary mixing and matching. Renowned for their quality and durability, high-fired Emile Henry ceramics have been crafted in the Burgundy region of France since 1850. Even after years of use, the glossy, translucent glaze on Emile Henry stoneware won't discolor, crackle, or show utensil marks. The versatile ware is safe for the freezer, oven, microwave, broiler, and dishwasher. Each Emile Henry piece, individually inspected and stamped, is backed by a three-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

Great Product December 31, 2008 N.P. (Broomfield, CO) One of the reasons that I started looking for an alternative to my old stanby 13x9 Pyrex baking dish was because it was not broiler safe. I bought the E.H. 13x10 dish a year ago for this specific purpose, and I have been very pleased with it so far. The E.H. dish is slightly wider and deeper than my Pyrex dish, which is nice because now I don't have to worry about food spilling over the sides while it is cooking in the oven (most recipes call for a 9x13 dish). The E.H. dish is also bottom rack dishwasher safe. Because the surfaces are smooth like a Pyrex, it could also be easily cleaned with a scrub brush and a dish rag. However, because the E.H. dish weighs 5 lbs.4.2 oz. (vs. the Pyrex of 3 lbs.9.9 oz.), I would definitely recommend using the dishwasher. One reviewer mentioned using aluminum foil to line the dish before cooking. I'm not sure if this was to prevent burning? Is so, why not just add a little sauce to the bottom of the dish, as you would with a Pyrex dish? Nothing mysterious here. Another nice feature about the E.H. dish is that it keeps food hotter out of the oven much longer than the Pyrex. It should also be noted that the very bottom is not smooth, like the rest of the dish, so take care not to drag it over the counters like you would with a Pyrex dish. At $60, this dish is a better bargain than the smaller E.H. designer version sold at the William-Sonoma stores. To me, this dish is prosciutto on a spam budget, and is a good buy. Do not be afraid to use this dish as the manufacturer recommends!
Cracked after a few years of using this dish December 29, 2008 I. Minerick (Oregon USA) I'm so disappointed that this baker cracked. I bought this about 4 years ago and only used it for lasagna and baked ziti, so it was used about 2-3 times a year! I really loved this pan because it is deep, about 3 inches, and it cleans up so well. I never put it in the freezer or dishwasher. The crack was not there when I was filling up the pan with ziti, it was discovered after I baked the ziti when I was hand washing it, the crack ran from the middle of the pan up the side, I just could not believe it. I never used this pan in very high temps either. So disappointing, I will not buy another Emile Henry product because of this experience.
Emile Henry products are incredible June 13, 2008 Margaret E. Lagasse (Dexter, ME United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Emile Henry products are incredible and this one is no exception. They are beautiful, very rugged and very versitile. I have bought 2 of these bakers for myself and 2 more as wedding gifts and everyone loves them!
Best baker I've ever had! May 26, 2008 Diana X (Valrico, FL United States) I actually bought this product from QVC a couple of years ago, although Amazon definitely has a better price. I absolutely love this dish. It retains heat very well and clean-up is a breeze. Great for lasagna and also a double batch of brownies, among many other things. I highly recommend every cook or baker get one of these!
Great, but I have the white!!............ March 9, 2008 Randi L. Macdonald (Ontario, Canada) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this pan, and I got it for a really cheap price, I think I paid about 30 bucks!! I make a lasagna in the pan( line it with foil), freeze the entire thing and then pop the frozen lasagna out of the pan. That goes into the freezer. When I want to bake it, I fit it right back into the pan and voila dinner for 8!!
