1 out of 5 stars Amazon has a packaging problem   October 8, 2008

These look like they would have fit the bill, but arrived chipped and broken. After second attempt, I have moved on to a department store.

4 out of 5 stars Work perfectly fine   November 9, 2007

The previous poster is wrong. I am a pastry chef. Creme Brulee is best when it is 1 inch thick or less. That gives you a better ratio of crunchy top to silky cream.

You do have to be careful not to drown your brulees getting them in and out of the water bath with these dishes, and I have had some trouble with chipping, but they work perfectly well for creme brulee.

2 out of 5 stars These dishes are really too shallow...   August 31, 2007

...for creme brulee or any other kind of custard.

I use them as nut dishes when I have company. Totally useless for anything else.
