After using this spoon for the first time, it split right down the middle while still in the soup pot! i don't recommend.

This is my favorite spoon. Yes it did split even after curing the spoon with oil. But it's still my favorite because of the way it's made.

I was beside myself when my favorite wooden spoon snapped while stirring my spaghetti sauce (it's very thick). Anyone who has had such a loss knows how I really felt when it happened. Replacing her was not undertaken lightly and there was a rigorous online interview process that had to be passed before my purchase. I chose Mario's 13-inch spoon. In my heart, I know that it will never totally replace my first love ,but will do quite nicely. Thank you Mario for making the transition so much easier.

Do not buy this spoon. After using this spoon the first time, I hand-washed and dried it immediately, set it on the counter, came back an hour later and it had already cracked straight down the middle. I have bought many wooden cooking utensils in my life and this is by far the worst ever (and I have bought some really cheap ones and even washed them in the dishwasher).

I absolutely love this spoon......it has already replaced in my heart and my kitchen my favorite wooden spatula. What a great combination of a straight edge like a spatula and a spoon for stirring, etc.
I plan to check out the other wooden spoons in this collection.
