Great Torch! Love the Creme Brulee it made December 12, 2008 B. Brickett (San Diego) Received this product over a month ago and used it three times to carmelize the creme brulees. Family loved the taste and my daughter love to use it to carmelize the dessert (Under supervision). Very simple to use, adjustable flame setting allows the user to vary the intensity of the flame.
Best I have had February 19, 2008 McG' (San Diego, California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I suspect it is possible that the other reviewer didn't realize that you have to unlock the safety first. Either that or he/she got a defective one. For my experience: (I got the vanilla colored one) My husband's favorite is creme brulee so I make it a lot. I have had 2 other torches & have been frustrated (another story). I decided to try a different style. I am VERY happy with this torch. It is very easy to fill & use. There is great control (flame strength) and the best part for me is I can hold it at any angle and it does not fluctuate in flame control or go out altogether when I hold it down. Dont' waste your money on those wands or cheapos out there. This feels good in control & weight. It has a "safety switch" too. Hard for kids to move it. A+
Wish it worked... January 12, 2008 Jens Schlueter (San Francisco, CA) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
After filling the chamber with fuel and attempting to start the torch with the automatic trigger, it wouldn't ignite. And while the prospect of returning it did cross my mind, the idea of sitting there trying to empty the chamber of all its fuel was not appealing (since you can't return this device with fuel in it). So I resolved myself to igniting it with a lighter or match to get the job done. Works well enough once it's ignited, but obviously it's not as handy as I would have liked...wish I could recommend it...
