Product Description THE EAGERLY AWAITED COLLECTION OF PERSONAL ESSAYS FROM THE BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF MY HORIZONTAL LIFEWhen Chelsea Handler needs to get a few things off her chest, she appeals to a higher power -- vodka. You would too if you found out that your boyfriend was having an affair with a Peekapoo or if you had to pretend to be honeymooning with your father in order to upgrade to first class. Welcome to Chelsea's world -- a place where absurdity reigns supreme and a quick wit is the best line of defense. In this hilarious, deliciously skewed collection, Chelsea mines her past for stories about her family, relationships, and career that are at once singular and ridiculous. Whether she's convincing her third-grade class that she has been tapped to play Goldie Hawn's daughter in the sequel to Private Benjamin, deciding to be more egalitarian by dating a redhead, or looking out for a foulmouthed, rum-swilling little person who looks just like her...only smaller, Chelsea has a knack for getting herself into the most outrageous situations. Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea showcases the candor and irresistible turns of phrase that have made her one of the freshest voices in comedy today.

Warning....Don't read any part of this book if you are afraid of laughing so hard you wet your pants....as I did. November 30, 2008 pvjim (Palos Verdes, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My wife enjoys her TV show so I bought the Kindle version for her and later heard her squealing laughter in the other room while she was reading it. I wondered what the big deal was so upon waking up Saturday morning, I grabbed the Kindle and started reading before taking my morning bathroom break. OOPS, thanks a lot Chelsea. Your book is hilarious but your description of you being strip searched put me in hot....I should say warm water. The "Alfalfa in a leg lock" quote was the culprit. Keep up the good work.
Funniest Book Ever November 28, 2008 Emily Lucchesi (Manchester, MA USA) This book is by far one of the funniest books i've ever read. i found myself on many occasions laughing out loud at her hilariously told stories. a must read for any comedy fan.
Who is Chelsea? November 25, 2008 BMW760Li (Alanta USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Chelsea is a funny character. She delivers this book with the dead-on hilarious precision of the stand-up comic that she is. Handler's strong voice shines throughout the book and it is almost impossible to put down. Bobby Brown, another compelling biography!!! Imagine being in one of the most successful boy bands of all time, New Edition; Then leave the group to become one of the biggest pop stars in the world; Date some of the most world renown celebrities, such as Janet Jackson and Madonna.....Bobby Brown: The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing But...
