Very satisfied July 31, 2007 D. Murphy (Austin, TX United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I searched high and low for a solid, well made teakettle to replace a 20 year old Revere Ware kettle. The current Revere Ware kettles seem to be made out of metal the thickness of aluminum foil. I wanted the same basic design - fill from the spout, without a separate removable lid in the middle that seems to be problematic on many kettles (causes the whistle to not work if the lid doesn't seal perfectly). This kettle fits the bill perfectly. It's very solid, heavy duty, looks and feels built to last forever. The handle stays cool, and the "latch open" feature on the spout cover is very handy. The whistle works great - although it's the strangest whistle I've ever heard, a very low deep sound more like a trumpet or trombone than a teakettle.
Not So Hot July 20, 2007 William E. Clopton (Texas) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This was purchased because we like the Circulon Cookware and use it exclusively. However if I had looked at the teakettle in the store I would not have purchased it. The kettle is heavy and I never know how much water is in it. There is a maximum fill line but no way to know how close you are to the line. The latch does not work to keep the spout lid open.
Very decent little kettle January 9, 2007 Dawn (Washington, DC United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a great little kettle at a very good price. My only complaint is that the handle gets a little too hot to handle without an oven mit.

Almost a perfect kettle! March 3, 2005 Kryler (Bay Ridge-Brooklyn, NY USA) 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
I really am very satisfied with this kettle. The capacity is right for the four of us and it looks wonderful. The wide base helps to capture the heat on my gas range therefore keeping the wait time to a minimum. Just a gentle wipe on the stainless steel body after filling keeps it looking first-rate. Filling is one of the reasons it is not a 5-star. I don't mind having to fill the pot via the spout but the whistling cap does not open past 90degrees. This means you have to almost stand the kettle on it's back in order to fill it. While pouring, the cap does lock easily in the open position. The soft handle is generous in it's proportions and very easy to grab and use to pour the water out of the spout. I find when heating the kettle the handle will get a little uncomfortable if I have the flame up all the way. But as previously noted; due to the wide base this in not necessary. This happens primarily during the initial heating. I find reheating the water leaves the handle much cooler. The second reason for missing the 5-star rating is the whistle. This is one of these new harmonic whistles. I have superb hearing so this in not an issue but others in my family don't hear as well and sometimes will not hear the "hum". I do highly recommend this product.
