Good while it lasted - 4 uses! December 4, 2008 Pigskins (Webster, NY USA) As others mentioned, this pan is made in China. It's lightweight and not sturdy. However it looked nice upon arrival. After 4 uses, it has warped. It no longer sits flat on the surface (a flat cooktop) and a gentle nick on the handle sends it spinning away. It was used a total of 4 times over 2 weeks. Now to see what T-Fal will do for me. It was not put in the oven or used over high heat or abused in any way.
Works well especially for the price December 3, 2008 Water Monkey (Santa Clarita, Ca.) We purchased this 5 quart cooker based on it's size and the fact that it shipped with a lid. This pan has not disappointed us. It is quite large, in fact we had to clear out a special spot in our cabinets for it. Over the last three months it has worked as expected. The non-stick surface is functioning well and we have not had any issues with scratches or sticky food. I don't miss the red dot that is on most of the T-Fal products mainly because I know how to cook and I know when a pan is at the correct temperature for what I am making. I would have preferred a metal lid because I am fearful one day I will either drop the glass lid or it will break being banged around in the cabinets. Being able to see what is covered isn't a necessity because I know when my recipes are done. I don't lift the lid except when I am stirring. If you are like me and prefer buying inexpensive cookware and replacing it more often (every 3-4 years) rather than over paying for expensive equipment and hope it lasts then this is a great pan for you. Granted this doesn't beat a comparably sized cast iron pan, but it is a nice addition when you want a non-stick surface.
Top-Flight for T-Fal November 10, 2008 SooperFlye (Obama(Chicago), IL USA) Hey folks, long before the internet there was T-FAL. I first heard about T-Fal about 25 years-ago, including it's reputation of high quality construction. Most people couldn't afford T-Fal 25-30 years ago because the stuff was extremely expensive. Today, a tight-wad like me can now buy top-notch cookware like this 5-qt Jumbo Cooker which use to cost $200 dollars 25 years-ago. This jumbo cooker is perfect for anyone who just got a new apartment or home, especially if you're strapped for cash. It does everything I need it to do. NO high heat needed, just low/medium heat to get your cooking on. It heats very, very fast and thoroughly (NO uneven cooking at all). I clean mine with ONLY warm water (NO soap), though I use dish detergent for the glass lid. Use wood or nylon cooking utensils ONLY. Clean always by hand, never use auto-dishwasher. I can see this item in my kitchen for the next 20-25 years. Buy it, you won't regret it folks!!
Great pan at a great price September 21, 2008 Donna M. Wigmore (West Chester, PA USA) I was hesitant to spend this kind of money on yet another pan. But, this one is well worth the money. It heats evenly, holds a ton, and washes easily and well. Even though it's only been a couple months, I've used it quite a bit and it looks brand new. I love it!
Scratches Smooth Cooktops September 9, 2008 David L. Winters Jr. (Columbus, Ohio) This product scratches smooth cooktops. We sent ours back to T-Fal and they claimed we must have had salt under the pan that caused the scratches, which is ridiculous.
