Product Description Equip your kitchen with a set of knives from one of the most esteemed names in cutlery. Representing value, as well as a recognized brand name, these knives never need sharpening and are economically priced. As well as the basics for food prep, this set also contains six steak knives and a bounus fork-tipped tomato/cheese knife.
Amazon.com Review The blades in this set of slim, lightweight knives are stamped in stainless steel, and their edges are microserrated and therefore touted as never needing sharpening. The handles are formed of tough polypropylene and are seamless, allowing for better hygiene. The set includes six kitchen knives, six 5-inch steak knives, and a rubber-footed wood block that has slots for them all. The kitchen knives include an 8-inch chef's knife with a curved blade for rocking through a chopping task; a 5-inch tomato knife with a narrow, curved blade; an 8-inch bread knife; a 6-inch utility knife; a 6-inch boning knife for meats, poultry, and fish; and a 2-1/2-inch paring knife for peeling and cleaning vegetables and fruits. As a bonus, a pronged-tip knife designed to slice cheese and spear the slices is included. While the knives are dishwasher-safe, they should be hand washed to preserve their edges. Unlike Henckels's premier knives, which are made in Germany, these knives are made in China; however, they do carry the company's lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack What's in the Box 8-inch chef's, 5-inch tomato, 8-inch bread, 6-inch utility, 6-inch boning, 2-1/2-inch paring, six 5-inch steak knives, hardwood block

Good Cutlery February 26, 2010 MSum865048 (Missouri) Good knives; a dream to work with. Very sharp and clean-cutting. Only thing that surprised me was that they have plastic handles. I suppose those are more durable, really, but I was expecting heavy wooden ones. Otherwise, a great product.
Absolute Crap, Even at This Price December 22, 2009 Sean (TX, USA) I bought these with the intention of gifting them. I wasn't looking for high end cutlery, just a cheap but well made set of knives. I would be embarrassed to present these to someone. You could pick up knives of comparable quality at the dollar store.
These knives are shoddy, and shouldn't be sold for more than $[...]. The handles are made of cheap plastic, are uncomfortable, and poorly balanced. The blades are too thin, too flexible, and they are all serrated (fine if you want to tear rather than cut your food I guess).
For the price you can do a lot better. I immediately returned this item when I saw the poor quality. Henckel should be ashamed to put their name on this garbage.
I picked up a set of Cooks brand cutlery from J.C. Penny for about the same price with full tang riveted handles, fairly balanced, and smooth bladed.
A decent "starter" set of knives December 15, 2009 Jennifer L. Anderson (Cincinnati, OH) Although not top quality per other reviewers, these Henckels knives are a decent starter set for amateur cooks for the price.
Great product! November 1, 2009 S. Berg (USA) I bought this for my parents as a Christmas gift last year. These knifes are sturdy, cut extremely easily, and are relatively low maintenance. They're very happy with this!
Disappointed in quality October 20, 2009 E. Ogilvie (Spring, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Order received yesterday, I'm returning them today.
Quality very poor and the knives don't look like the photo. Blades of the knives are more narrow, and the handles as so flimsy I doubt they'd last a month of light usage in the kitchen. I've bought J.A. Henkels International products before and was always very satisfied. What a disappointment! These are nothing like their description or stated quality.
