Product Description Ginsu 04814 International Traditions 14-Piece Bakelite Knife Block Set stocks a kitchen with most cutlery needs, and packs all knives in a contemporary hardwood storage block. The set includes: an 8-inch chef's knife, an 8-inch slicer, an 8-inch bread knife, a 5-inch boning knife, a 4-1/2-inch utility knife, a 3-1/2-inch paring knife, and six 4-1/2-inch steak knives, plus a pair of shears.
Amazon.com Review Many associate Ginsu knives with the product's kitschy infomercial from the `70s that begins with a karate kick to a watermelon and proceeds with a demo of these knives cutting through just about anything in the house. Like the original product, Ginsu's International Traditions is designed for the home cook who is not attuned to the maintenance required of a more high-end knife. However, this line is an improvement on the original, offering the weight, balance, and style of a commercial-quality knife, while meeting current design trends and performance expectations. This 14-piece set stocks a kitchen with most cutlery needs, and packs all knives in a contemporary black hardwood storage block. Ginsu blades are constructed from stainless steel and feature a two-dimensional serrated edge that is symmetrically cut on either side for more accurate slicing and for either right- or left-handed use. Edges are still as low-maintenance as ever and never require sharpening. The blades have full tangs that extend through lightweight bakelite handles and are triple-riveted for strength. Ginsu covers these International Traditions knives under a limited, lifetime warranty and recommends manual cleaning with hot, soapy water to keep them in top shape. --Cristina Vaamonde What's in the Box 3-1/2-inch paring knife, 4-1/2-inch utility knife, 5-inch boning knife, 8-inch bread knife, 8-inch slicer, 8-inch chef's knife, six 4-1/2-inch steak knives, shears, hardwood block

GREAT KNIVES FOR THE PRICE!!!!! March 1, 2010 R. Adam Rodawald This knife set is great for only 30 bucks. I have used the higher priced knives from stores like wal-mart and they do not compaire. The block is very solid and fits the blades perfect.
Rusts easily February 25, 2010 Larciel 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Simply put, these knifes are ok for its price. It cuts very well but the knives rusts very easily. Buy with caution. I purchased these thinking that this will be a wonder knife but reality wasn't so.
Bottom line: These are good knives for its price but nothing more
Fantastic especially for the price! February 5, 2010 P. Johnson This is the 3rd set of these knives I've gotten. The others were gifts and this set was my Christmas from my son and I love them! I don't cook a lot and so I've never bought a complete set before, but these were inexpensive (basically a whole set for the price of one or two knives), and they cut really well and I especially appreciate the super sharp steak knives. If you are reading these reviews because you can't decide whether or not to buy this set-the long and short of my opinion is buy these they're great!
Missing Knife February 3, 2010 Luz J. Guerrero 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
When i received the knife, I didn't open until xmas. I was missing 3 knife and after one month , 3 knife did not cut as promise. It was a gift to a family member, so I was pretty upset.
Finally a good product for a small price January 31, 2010 J. Schaerer (Las Vegas, NV) We probably went through 3 or 4 sets of knives before finding this one. The others advertised their sharpness but all couldn't slice a tomato without crushing it. These knives do everything we want and do it well.
