| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description For serious prep jobs, including slicing and chopping, use this 8-in. Culinar Chef's Knife. It's a great size for cubing meat for stew, cutting large root vegetables and slicing lettuce or cabbage. Part of the Wusthof collection, it features the same legendary forged stainless precision blade and balanced design as lines such as Grand Prix. Its unique patented 18/10 stainless handle sets it apart from more traditional Wusthof knives, adding a contemporary elegance to a very timeless, functional kitchen tool.Prized possessions of professional chefs, Wusthof knives are an invaluable asset of any kitchen. Every element of this renowned cutlery contributes to its precision and ease of use. In Solingen, Germany, each piece is hand-forged by skilled craftsmen in an extensive series of manufacturing steps. The high-carbon stainless steel blades are hardened to maintain a sharp edge and full tangs provide perfect balance combined with the uniquely formed stainless handles.

Outstanding utensil May 7, 2006 peederj (San Francisco, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my main knife, although I do use the hollow-edge 7" Santoku more often it seems. 9" is perfect, and the belly is shaped really well...with a round upper half, and a straight lowerhalf near the bolster...which allows dicing quite effectively. Keeps its edge very well, and while you will have to file the spine to achieve a comfortable grip, I feel the shape is more versatile than the competing knife at this top level...the Kershaw Sun Ken Onion, which is pretty, requires no filing, and is rounded the entire length of the blade. This isn't a knife for idiots.
