Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Been looking many, many years for a great knife ...   July 28, 2008

and never afforded them, even though I knew that the small investment would be a good one and last my lifetime. Great knives last a lifetime. I've gone through so many cheap knives that were ugly and dull. A friend (who's teaching me a lot) gave me this knife as a gift and now I realize fully what I've missed out on for over 18 years of my cooking life. Forget about the blade for a moment. This knife has great balance. I wasn't expecting that cutting carrots or potatoes would be so much easier with a well balanced knife. I thought that it, more or less, came down to the blade's sharpness and thickness. Wrong. The blade is, extremely sharp--don't get me wrong--but the body ... the build is spectacular. Very solid. The design is also remarkable. The wood grain shows in the handle but it's as if it were black wood, through and through. The blade has a fantastic, intricate wavy (is that a word?) design. I love to cook and it's great that I now own a knife that'll last my lifetime and be a joy each time I use it. No more ugly and dull knives ... I'm getting a set of these. Five Stars!!!
