Amazon.com Review This peeler and paring set from the Hoffritz Platinum series will look good and be put to good use in any kitchen. The high-carbon stainless-steel 3-1/4-inch paring knife is ideal for paring, peeling, or slicing small fruits and vegetables--its high-carbon stainless-steel-alloy blade takes a super-sharp edge and stays sharp longer than other materials, and its high chromium content keeps it from staining. The peeler has a great curved finger guard to keep fingers safe, and both utensils have 18/8 stainless-steel satin-finished handles with a hole in the end for hanging on a utensil tool bar. To sharpen the paring knife, use a ceramic sharpener. --Doree Armstrong

PEELER November 17, 2008 J. Pratt (ATL) I have the peeler only, I've had it for several yrs. It does peel off a bit more than some other peelers but, it's the best peeler I have ever used ! I like the larger handle, very comfortable !
dont waste your money June 24, 2003 Valueholic (United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have had this for 2years now and what a waste of money it has been. I have used this a few of times before I decided to toss them. This set was a disaster. The parer is dull period and the peeler peels off much more than just the skin, you lose almost 20%(no exaggeration) of the fruit or the vegetable.

I got this free with something else, and like it better than what I paid for!
arrived dull. July 5, 2002 Rebecca A. Baillie (Woodland, CA USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
The peeler in this set is good for larger vegetables like potatos. My husband uses it, since the handles are large and fit his hands better. The parer arrived without the blade having been sharpened. The blade does require repeated sharpening. The parer was larger and more difficult to use than I had expected. Again, it seems to work best for someone with larger hands.
good for the price December 28, 2001 Mary L McGough (Afton, MN United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
OK so I got this set for free, but I would have paid something for it. The little peeler works fine but the parer isn't the sharpest knife in my knife block. I've attempted to sharpen it but it doesn't hold an edge well.
