Product Description Slicing aid for bread ensures consistent thickness of slices while avoiding the risk of cutting one's hand. Acrylic slicing guide with "Bread" imprint fixed to a wood base with removable crumb catcher.
Amazon.com Review This is an adequate no-frills manual bread slicer, and adequate is the operative word. The crumb catcher eliminates messes, making this slicer a much cleaner option than slicing bread on a cutting board. Also, you can achieve uniform 1/2-inch slices; the only caveat is that you can't adjust the slicer to cut any thicker or thinner. Use your longest serrated knife when cutting, because a knife that just barely spans the width of the slicing tray will keep slipping out of the acrylic slicing guides. The guides have no top support and tend to wobble a bit as you slice. They also have inexplicably high sides; you'd have to use triple the leavening to make bread that reaches the top of them. Despite its design limitations, the Norpro deluxe bread slicer is easy to assemble and maintain and has an attractive overall look. --Carol Gnojewski

This thing is awesome! August 13, 2008 Cipherz My wife any I had just bought a bread machine and decided to start making our own bread. After baking our first loaf it was very apparent that we needed a bread slicer. It was as if I were a 5 year old trying to color and not being able to stay within the lines. We purchased this bread slicer because it looked like it was of good quality and we liked the crumb catcher. This is a great slicer. I have sliced anything from sandwich loaves to french bread to bagels. Works great!
Bread Slicer July 31, 2008 F. Leroy Linton This is our second bread slicer. The first one lasted about a year and needed to be replaced because several of the plastic indexing fingers were broken off. Other buyers should be careful slicing the bread as to not break the fingers. The manufacturer should re-enforce the fingers to improve the strength.
Great product July 30, 2008 Adam R. Welch I like everything about this product. Others I have had have been to bulky and the slices weren't spaced like we like them. This meets all of our needs and saves on a lot of mess. We received it when promised and in great condition.
OK June 19, 2008 M. Rech What canyou say, it's a piece of wood with slits for slicing bread evenly. Works OK, if you bread cutting blade is long enough if not it will not give you uniformed slices.
Crumbly! June 9, 2008 The gifted person 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Looks great in the picture. It probably does exactly as described, except that the one I received was broken. I'm taking that as a big clue!
