The flatware is very elegant looking. I like the slim handle's with the touch of elegance in the band lower handle. This set's the flatware apart from just being simple looking to elegant looking. This flatware is durable, very shiney and good for either day to day use or formal use.

I'm so surprised to hear that many people have had this flatware develop rust spots! I've had "Dominique" for over two years, and not once has it developed rust spots in my dishwasher. I even use lemon detergent! It probably depends on what kinds of chemicals/additives are in your city's water system. I'm in Sherman Oaks, CA.
One thing that I love about this particular pattern is the thickness of the handles. You've all had this happen: You take some really frozen ice cream out of the freezer, and you scoop it out of the container with a spoon, and the spoon bends 90 degrees. Well, wth the "Dominique" pattern, the spoons never bend! They are so strong! You could use them to pry open almost anything!! I was looking for this pattern on Amazon because somehow, a few of my forks and spoons have mysteriously disappeared, and I want to replace them. I really love the quality and durability of this product.

As stated in a few posts below, these pieces rust after one wash in the dishwasher. My wife and I love this set, but the rust spots keep us from keeping it. I left several messages with the company, but no one ever called me back. Target was great about returning the pieces, but it was a hassle to take ALL of your silverware back to the store after you had washed them and thrown away the box. The look of the flatware is nice, but not nice enough to deal with rust. sub-par flatware. Looks aren't everything.

I loved this flatware set until I washed the pieces in the dishwasher. The fist time I washed them with regular dishwashing detergent (without lemon - as specified in the product instructions) they came out with rust spots. Thinking I might have purchased a bad box, I exchanged them for a new set. The new set rusted as well on the first wash.

I love the feel and look of this silverware, but after only 3 weeks several pieces started to rust around the handles. It says it's dishwasher safe with regular dishsoap, but obviously it's not....
