I can't imagine how one would use this as a party plate, unless one is purchased for each guest -- and then the price would be prohibitive! The size is only somewhat larger than a saucer and much smaller than a sandwich plate. RATING: Bad investment

I use these plates all the time. Covers for warming things up in the soup bowl, great for items like bagels or English muffins. Another plus: in this age of trying to reduce portion sizes and hence weight, these are perfect for reasonably sized individual portions of salads and sides.

I have many pieces from the set and have no complaints about them at all. Each one has the beautiful Butterfly Meadow design. I use this set extensively in the summer months as it seems to fit the occasion perfectly.
