I searched high and low for a butter dish to hold the Irish butter that we buy at the local supermarket (it is wider than American sticks of butter). This dish is a fantastic value when compared to the few other options I found on the internet. No hesitations recommending this.

I ordered the sugar bowl and butter dish. The sugar bowl is so doggone pretty. The butter dish is in like a thousand pieces. It was packed in ZERO packing material and I guess someone thought the trip would be just fine. I could hear castanets when I picked up the box and was most angry when I opened it. I will never order anything glass again from anywhere. The dish was 12 bucks so for 5 dollars I can repackage the thing in a better box, drive and use gas to the post office and stand in line for 20 minutes to send it back. I am going to toss it. Never again will I order anything glass. This is the sender's fault and I am ticked as hell about it.

I am a big fan of toile prints and country stylings in my house, so when I was in the market for a butter dish, I was really excited to see this option. The Botanic Blue Butter Dish is even prettier in person, adding a bit of elegance between the milk cartons and eggs. My only complaint is that the atypical shape, with the lid on top, can make it a little harder to get at the butter. Honestly though, it's so lovely, it's worth it, especially to put out for a special dinner occasion. Sure to get compliments.

I am not a person that usually takes such pleasure in a dish. I look for functionality, ease of use, and quality.
In this butter dish, all the needs I usually have for any item I purchase is met, along with the sheer joy of such a beautiful piece of china.
The size is large, holds two 1/2 cup sticks of butter. I didn't know if I would like having sides on the bottom of a butter dish, but it works well.
I highly recommend this dish to anyone looking for a butter dish. Whether you have a large or small family, the dish should meet your needs.

This is an absolutely beautiful dish. I bought it to store my butter, but when I received it, I was surprised by its size (looks like it will hold MORE than a pound of butter).
Since we're a small family, I find it a little too large for an everyday butter dish, so I've converted mine to a desktop dish (to hold my cache of postage stamps). It's a great addition to my office decor and would also make a wonderful jewelry cask. The design is very beautiful and finely detailed; porcelain is of excellent quality. But not so great for butter storage unless you are a large family....
