Stinking Travel Mug August 27, 2010 fafar Bought two of these from Costco. The one with the black lid is unusable due to an odor from the lid. The one with a red top seems a bit better. Don't waste your money.
Good insulation August 19, 2010 An elementary school teacher (San Diego, CA United States) Keeps water icy cold all night with no spill worries...My kids only use it for ice water and love it.
Ingenious design, right price August 19, 2010 Gabriel Mongefranco The Contigo insulated tumbler mug really is spill-proof as advertised. Liquids do not leak, and having to push a button before sipping means there is a nearly zero chance of spillage upon an accidental drop. Moreover, it does insulate hot and cold liquids for several hours.
What attracted me to this mug in the first place, however, was its stylish look. The stainless steel, futuristic curvature and edges, and the cool press-to-sip button all add up to a cup of the future look! The mechanism inside the lid is very stable (and ingenious), although it does take a few minutes of washing to get rid of the factory plastic smell (note that it is BPA free though). The stainless-steel version (which I purchased) is dishwasher-safe. The lids for all versions are also dishwasher-safe. I've seen this mug at local stores, but Amazon had a much better price -- including free 2-day shipping for students!

Overall, this mug is a great buy. I would highly recommend it, whether you want it for use in your car, backpacking trips, school or around the house. This is my new favorite mug.

Coffee travel mug August 17, 2010 Gerald Stephenson (San Jose CA) I'm a coffee nut. Drink it all the time. As such I hate it when my travel mug leaks all over my shirt. Also hate it when the coffee gets cold before I get to enjoy it. This product solved both problems. Really is leak proof and really does keep coffee warm for a very long time. I bought one for my son and he loves it too. Then my wife (non coffee person) just had to have one for soft drinks and now she loves hers too.
Concept good, but can't use because of the gross-factor! August 16, 2010 Alison Wood I bought this for my husband's birthday. We both thought it was great in the beginning. Then after a few uses, it became REALLY gross! The flavor of the coffee became really strange. And I noticed that no matter how hard I tried to clean it, I couldn't get the gunk out of the crevices. Then I soaked it and became really grossed out. All of this black mold started coming out of it. After I did that, I thought maybe that was it and since I cleaned it so well, no more funny taste and no more gunk. I was wrong! As frugal of a person that I am, I ended up throwing this away. I'm going to go to the store and buy a cheapo brand. Don't waste your money!
