LOVE this colander! January 6, 2009

I got this colander and love it. I needed something sturdy to stand up to pasta, potatoes, etc. My plastic one was getting ratty. This looks sharp, holds a whole 5 lb bag of potatoes, and is easy to clean afterwards. It's not that much taller than my old one and fits easily into my cabinet shelf. GREAT value for the money.

I'm happy with the quality of this colander. I make pasta about once a week, and the plastic one I had previously wasn't working for me. The pasta clung to the plastic and got caught in the holes. I've had this one for a couple months and I find it easy to use and it is very sturdy.

I would never have thought a colander would inspire my first Amazon review! But this is such a nice piece of kitchen equipment--great weight, size and utility. A comment from a previous reviewer regarding the footed bottom (rather than a ring) allowing liquid to escape more easily made a lot of sense to me and proved to be a great feature. I am really enjoying this purchase...

I love it, it's a great big size that can handle a lot of pasta, and the inside is polished so highly that it actually creates holographs - kind of neat :) When not in use, I use it to store fruit and things on my counter, it looks great and is functional.
