 strains like a dream but difficult to clean December 30, 2008

Works very well for rinsing greens, grapes, etc. Water obviously flows easily through the small holes but cleaning dried pasta starch from the tiny openings is a hateful process. If pasta is often on your menu I'd look for other straining methods.

This colander is large, and the expanding arms let it sit (the short way) on my sink so I don't need to hold it. Its size lets me drain vegetables or spaghetti for eight at once with no difficulty. I have found it to be among the most convenient tools in my kitchen.

I love the expanding sides with the rubber grips. After YEARS of dumping water in the sink over my food and then wondering how clean my sink REALLY was... This keeps food off the bottom of the sink away from water that may not drain quick enough.
