Product Description The Norpro line of professional grade stainless steel scoops feature a durable 18/10 stainless steel constructions, and a powerful heavy duty spring action for continuous use. The 2 tsp model is perfect for melon balls, cookie dough, frozen yogurt, meat balls, mashed potatoes and so mush more. These are truly not just for cookies anymore.
Amazon.com Review An all-purpose scoop, this tool portions ice cream, frozen yogurt, cookie dough, meat balls, rice dishes, and vegetable purees. And it's ideal for forming pretty sherbet balls to fill dessert glasses. With a squeeze of your hand, its heavy-duty spring action releases food by sliding a thin steel band beneath it. The scoop head, 1-3/8 inches in diameter, holds 2 teaspoons. The tool measures 8 inches overall, is made of noncorrosive 18/8 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish, and is dishwasher-safe. --Fred Brack

Works perfectly! January 3, 2009 Oregon Cook (Eugene, Oregon) Works even with soft sticky ravioli fillings. I was afraid the ricotta filling wouldn't release, but it did. A real time-saver, and lets you keep your fingers clean. And it's sturdy and well-made.
Fun and easy to use December 14, 2008 City Mouse (New York, USA) I made chocolate chip cookies today using the Norpro scoop. It made fast and easy work of a big bowl of batter. The scoop appears to be well made. Feels solid in the hand and doesn't feel flimsy. Cleaned up easily, too.
Great Utensil November 29, 2008 Regina Merwin (Burbank, CA) This little scooper makes it so easy to measure out cookie dough and saves a lot of time and mess. I've never used it as a melon baller but seems as if should it do the same.

This item broke the first time we used it. The gear would slip and you could put it back on track but after 10 or 15 times we just gave up and threw it away.
