Product Description Large face with easy-to-read zone guide references. Range 100 F to 550 F. Hangs or stands for secure placement in oven. Durable stainless steel construction. Lifetime warranty. Dishwasher safe. 4 7/8" x 2 3/8".
Amazon.com Review Most ovens, especially old ones, run hotter or colder than their set temperatures indicate. Rather than guessing how much to raise or lower the heat for a particular recipe, bake and roast with precision using a highly accurate oven thermometer like the Taylor Oven Guide. Made from durable, heavy-duty stainless steel, this mercury-free thermometer measures temperatures from 100 to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. The large, easy-to-read face also provides Celsius markings and a heating zone guide as well. Dishwasher-safe, this thermometer can hang in the oven or stand alone. It's NSF listed for food hygiene and safety. --Mary Park

Checked calibration of oven with TWO thermometers! January 7, 2009 Joe (Maryland suburbs of D.C.) Taylor Oven Guide Thermometer Believing two thermometers are necessary to verify the calibration of our oven, I purchased this Taylor Oven Guide Thermometer model together with the Sunbeam, 90300, Oven Thermometer, Stainless Steel. Both read within two degrees of each other and the oven itself was right on the money!
oven thermometer December 21, 2008 bead girl boston since my vintage oven doors don't close completely I'm guessing that I'm losing valuable heat so, this oven thermometer helped my timing right on our thanksgiving meal.
stopped working December 18, 2008 Lisabeth Robinson (Morrison TN USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Similar to another reviewer, I bought this at the recommendation of a respected test cooking kitchen. It quit working after a year. Also found that the metal hook on top (that allows it to hang from an oven rack) scratched the bottom of all my metal baking pans.
Useless December 2, 2008 P. Tan (Colorado, US) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I, too, bought this thermometer based on the test kitchen equipment review. I accidentally knocked it over, and it fell through the grates into the heating element while the oven was on. The numbers rubbed off after that, and I can't read this greatest of oven thermometers.
Not Recommended November 24, 2008 Craig J. Turner (Temcula, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
All of the lower rated reviews are absolutely true. I've used this thermometer for several months and it is hard to read the numbers and also the "mercury" in the thermometer to tell what the temperature really is. It gets dirty with grease splatter and thus it's hard to read. I washed it by hand with 409 and a sponge with the misplaced hope that the numbers would survive; they didn't. Also, when I washed it the glass rod slid in the metal holders / clamps so any calibration that it had was no longer valid. I am now testing how hot my trash can gets in the S. Calif sun. I'm not buy this item again. Burn me once, .....
