Smelly November 22, 2008 William Hutto It stinks! Literally! The soft silicone used in this comes with heavy chemical plastic-like odors. I don't feel comfortable using something that gives off odors like this. I figure, whatever it is your olfactory receptors are detecting, is going into your food and ultimately down your gullet. Maybe after awhile, the smell will subside, either by use or otherwise, but I'm not going to be using this very often. It's difficult to handle small items (e.g. sausage patties) as it's so large, and slippery when it gets grease on it. However, it makes it easy to do a triple-egg-over-easy! I just wish the thing didn't have such a LOUD odor.
Multi-Fab tool..... October 25, 2008 Janalee S. Redmond (Bethesda, MD USA) I have been trying out the hi-temp silicone spatulas as they appeared on the market as it is clearly such a great idea....and this is finally the one that I love. Works for pancakes, onions, cutlets, in short this and everything that I cook. I am tossing the other experiments and if this is short lived I will simply buy another as it is a wonderfully useful kitchen tool.
Not crazy about this. October 17, 2008 M. E. Ghidotti (Chicago, IL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This utensil is too big and too rubbery. While I haven't had a problem turning anything, the size and the flexibility of it make you feel like you have little control. I would prefer a sturdier one.
Sticky Bugger August 31, 2008 Juanita A. Floyd (Leesburg, Virginia) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This seems like a really nice kitchen tool on first inspection. But after having used it for a variety of tasks, I wouldn't recommend it. It seems to stick to everything. Eggs are impossible to flip with this as are pancakes. Today I tried to use it to take cookies off a sheet and that didn't work either. Too flexible and the silicone doesn't slide.
I love this thing July 23, 2008 World Tourist (Rio de Janeiro, Chicago) I have two drawers just full of gizmos in my kitchen, some I use often and some not so often. This thing seems to wind up in my hand all the time. Just enough flexibility combined with just enough sturdiness. great for tiny things as well as larger things like an omelette. Handles temperatures as stated. This is just an awesome spatula and I never said that about a spatula before.
