Perfect bread knife! December 27, 2008 Kathleen Funk (Austin, Texas USA) This is the perfect bread knife for me. It has a great serrated edge that cuts through the bread neatly without tearing it. The blade is nice and long, and goes through my largest bread-machine loaves without a problem. And I really like the walnut handle. I've had my knife for about 20 years and it's still going strong. Do NOT put this in the dishwasher and make sure you use a wooden or plastic cutting board beneath your bread so your knife will last at least as long as mine.
miffed? you bet! October 23, 2008 John Nichols (ontario canada) 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
don't bother trying to order this thing if you live in canada... apparently you might be a terrorist or something and they can't ship it to you... this is an important product for usa national security... don't waste your time and go find a nice canadian source for a similar product. miffed? you bet!
Wonderful Bread Knife October 23, 2008 GaryLee (Scottsdale, AZ United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The 10-Inch Serrated Bread/Slicing Knife made by Chicago cutlery is very sharp and must be used carefully. Some reviews have complained about how easy it is to cut yourself. This is a KNIFE. BE CAREFUL WITH KNIVES. That said, it is extremely easy to slice bread as thin as you want it. I have a Toastmaster toaster from the late 1940's that insists on thin sliced bread. (A wedding present to my parents) This knife works great for slicing homemade bread to make wonderful toast. It works with freshly made bread, hot from the oven and just as well with bread softened from being stored in a plastic bag for 3 days. This a wonderful knife for the price.
Lordly! September 16, 2008 Mjoelnir (Salt Lake City, UT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had this knife for over a month and it is one of the best, if not THE best bread knife I've ever used. Beautifully sharp and heavy (durable). Fantastic! Greatly recommended!
