| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Review Like an exotic sea creature unfolding underwater, the crystal Capio bowl flows up and outward from a narrow base. Twenty lines radiate from the central well, giving the bowl a fluid feel. While the nearly flat bowl could be used to display fresh fruit, the full-lead crystal is so brilliant and the design so eye-catching that the 13-inch piece is best used as a table centerpiece or art piece. Designed by Peter Stathis, the bowl is flawlessly crafted by skilled European glassblowers, and should be washed by hand to preserve its sparkling clarity. An 11-inch vase is also part of the Capio collection. Nambe was founded in 1951 in a village of the same name in scenic northern New Mexico. From the beginning, the company focused on hand-producing high-quality, functional items such as sand-cast metal bowls and trays with great attention to timeless, modern design. Porcelain dinnerware also now joins Nambe, along with the crystal and metal lines, all of which make exceptional gifts for the most special of occasions. Nambe ware has won numerous design awards, has been shown in or recognized by nearly two dozen museums worldwide, and is part of the permanent collections of many, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. --Ann Bieri
