I bought these bowls to serve lattes, French style. It's a bonus that they are hearty enough to double as cereal, soup, or grapefruit service bowls.
The bowls are hefty in the hands, not light and fragile. The grooves around the bowl make holding it as a latte cup safe and secure. It's thick enough to not make them too hot to hold.
The color is consistent and rich. They're so bright, cheery, and beautiful to look at that I left them on the counter for a week.
At $13.94 for a set of 4, they are are a real bargain.

I have a number of BIA Cordon Bleu pieces, and I recently purchased this item during Amazon's 70% off kitchen sale. Here's a rundown of the good and not-so-good:
PROs:
* Great price! Just over 1 buck a bowl on sale.
* One dish does it all! Microwave, oven, & dishwasher safe.
* I use these items as tableware. The white color perfectly matches my 15-year-old white Dansk bistro (now discontinued). I mix-n-match the white Dansk & two-tone BIA pieces with ease. Love it!
CONS:
* I have found frequent flaws in the stoneware & in the enamel of the two-tone BIA pieces. Sent one of three sets back.
* Color is not consistent across sets. Some yellows are deeper than others.
To Amazon's credit, I returned the problem items & they paid for USPS shipping. I would buy more pieces again.
5-stars for the pieces that work for me -- I deducted one star for the hassle of returning the poorly made items.
