Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Review When table-space is at a premium, this elegantly crescent-shaped salad dish can be nestled much close to the dinner plate than an equivalently sized round salad plate. But although it saves on space, this piece, like the rest of the Botanic Garden collection, has style in abundance. A hand-painted central flower motif is flanked by two butterflies to create a perfectly proportioned design for the plate's unusual shape, and a border of tiny green leaves accentuates its bold curves. On less formal occasions, this plate would be ideal for serving nuts and candy. More than 30 years ago the founder of Portmeirion Potteries was inspired by 19th-century botanical illustrations to create the Botanic Garden collection of tableware and cookware. Each piece is crafted from fine glazed earthenware and features highly detailed floral designs complemented by a simple border of green leaves to give the collection a coordinated look. Botanic Garden tableware is safe in the freezer, microwave, oven, and dishwasher, but it should not be subjected to sudden changes in temperature. --Simon Leake
