From antiques to exclusive boutiques, Kings Road in London's Chelsea district has it all for the hip shopper. Rosanna brings that same mix of funky and fashionable to the table with Kings Road porcelain. Very British gold crowns, in a variety of styles, regally seem to float across the white porcelain pieces, sometimes neatly centered, sometimes asymmetrically drifting off a plate, as on these eight-inch dessert plates. Each different, the four plates in this set strike a contemporary chord even when serving a traditional figgy pudding or other holiday dessert. The Rosanna Kings Road collection also consists of small bowls, mugs, a contemporary-shaped teapot, and a large serving tray with a scalloped rim. Add the Earl Grey tea, scones, and finger sandwiches, and a quite classy high tea is in the offing. The Kings Road crowns are rendered in gleaming 24-carat gold, which means the porcelain is not safe for microwave-use and is best washed by hand. The plate set comes packaged in a sturdy, drawer-style gift box, elegantly decorated in a gold-and-white, crown-and-Union Jack motif. --Ann Bieri
