With service for four, each setting includes a 10-3/4-inch dinner plate, a 6-3/4-inch bread-and-butter plate, an 18-ounce soup or cereal bowl, and an 11-ounce stoneware mug. To construct Livingware tableware, Corelle thermally compresses three layers of glass, producing a vitrelle glass composition that is lighter than other dishware, but more durable than conventional glass. The tableware resists cracks and chips with great success, while the lamination compression process combats stains, scratches, and fading. The user-friendly plates and bowls are dishwasher- and microwave- safe and warm food in conventional ovens up to 350 degrees F. The mugs, however, find safe use in the microwave only. For the best care, avoid soaking stoneware mugs for prolonged periods of time. Corelle discourages the use of abrasives or scouring on these pieces. I just received this set yesterday. When I picked the package up from the front porch, it sounded like the box contained Lego's. I knew that couldn't be good. I expected to find many broken pieces, based on the rattling sound inside the box. So I was actually quite happy to discover that only one plate had broken. (I know, how wrong is that?)
As another reviewer stated, Corelle just put four small plates on top of four larger plates within their box. No padding or protection. Of course they're going to get messed up if shipped. I don't know if extra cushioning (packing material) in the box from Amazon would have helped or not. I kind of doubt it.
So I'm out one plate. Not worth the hassle of a return. And I'm really pleased with the set. I wanted some extra dishes for every day use for the kids, and these look to be really good for that.

I love these dishes and this particular design. I don't have a dishwasher and since I wash everything by hand, I don't have to worry about breaking these since they are Corelle. Great product!

This product was exactly what I was looking for when I wanted to get rid of all the plastic and melamine dishes my kids were eating off of. I did also purchase the lunch plates because the smaller plates in this set, fit a sandwich or toast and that is it. I didn't want the mugs when I was looking to purchase this set but for the value, I opted for the 16 piece set. It turns out the mugs work great and I have a 2 and 5 year old. This way they are not using my expensive glasses and plates. They love having a set of their own.

I ordered 3 sets of these because they looked 'fun'.....I loved the colors and the dot pattern. My order came with 1 broken bowl (Hmmmmmm, Corelle?) and 1 plate that wasn't printed well. I was a little disappointed with the colors- it photographs much more intense than it is and for some reason, I was expecting it to have green in it....it doesn't...just red/orange/yellow & blue. I was promptly issued a new set to replace the 2 damaged pieces- I found that inconvenient as I had to repackage the unused pieces and the original damaged/broken ones and try to get to the post office or I would get charged for another full set. I really like the plates- just wish they had a bit more color, though!
