Displaying the latest in contemporary aesthetics, Corelle's Square Round line consists of square plates and bowls with rounded corners, delineated round centers, and subtly lifted rims. The Eloquence pattern features a white background flowingly decorated with soft green carnations and curlicue leaves; only the bowl stays unadorned except for a line of green on the rim. Graceful and fresh, the pattern brings cheer to year-round dining or can be brought out especially for spring and summer. Like all Corelle dinnerware, Eloquence is made of laminated layers of glass that produce incredible strength while being very lightweight, thin, and stackable. Moreover, because the enamel pigments are fired onto the dinnerware, the design won't fade or scratch off over time. I liked the look of these dishes from the amazon site, but they were so much more stylish in person. They are very good quality dishes that look like they would cost much more. Just extremely happy with the quality and beauty of this particular pattern. The square plates hold more food also. Corelle outdid themselves with the square dishes. I just wish they had more square serving pieces to go with the set, as well as small square plates for snacks.

The plates are sturdy and durable! We use them daily, even out by the pool! They still look lovely! And I LOVE the new, unique designs!

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this, but I think the color in the picture is off. The actual color of the flowers on the plates is more of a muted lime green. Not quite the color I wanted, but not ugly enough to return the set.
On the plus side, every single piece arrived intact, no cracks or breaks anywhere. The plates are lightweight but don't feel fragile. I'm not wild about the square bowls (they're white with a lime green ring around the top) because I think they look kind of cheap. Four stars because I think I will love the plates once I get used to the color, and they are a huge improvement over the heavy stoneware I have now.

First of all, I looked for these plates everywhere online and Amazon had the best deal on them for $59.99 a set and free shipping. I ordered 3 sets and even with the Super Saver shipping I received them in a couple of days. Out of the 48 pieces I ordered, only 2 arrived broken. Two of my mugs arrived with broken handles. The mugs are porcelain, not Vitrelle like the rest of the set, and are therefore more fragile. I am very happy with the looks of my new dinneware. The bowls and mugs are larger than most that come with a set. The plates are also big; we have been using the lunch plates most of the time since the dinner plates are pretty oversized. I didn't pursue replacing the brokem mugs since I don't really need 12 anyway but Corelle does have a warrenty on the product for a year. Overall I am happy with the set - great price and you get the durable, light pieces Corelle is known for with a stylish look that I woulndn't have expected from this brand.
