Even though I'm not a foodie I'm kind of a dish junkie and right now have plates in 4 different patterns. I reach for these a lot. When looking at a new pattern I always try to picture the plate covered in half-eaten spaghetti. Try it, it eliminates a lot of the more out-there designs that only look good before any food is served. Food always looks okay served on plain white plates while the square shape and fluted edges add some pizazz. The mugs are a decent size for morning coffee. Dried food stuck in the edges could be a pain to hand wash but I put these in the dishwasher and they come out spotless. The quality, shine and heft are comparable to brands that cost a LOT more so Scandia ultra is a real bargain.

Just finished a complete kitchen remodel to a very contemporary feel and this dinnerware set by corelle was a perfect match. This set is much heavier than other corelle, but still lighter than stoneware (my wife doesn't care for real heavy plates). I highly recommend this set from corelle, not to mention their fantastic warranty.

If you are planning on buying something from this company and you don't want a thin plate feel, these are the ones for you. I dropped one on the floor and it didn't break. They have a plain look but they are great for everyday use.

Growing up, my Mom had the same set of Corelle dishes for years and years, so I wanted Corelle too. I registered for these for my bridal shower. They were so unbelievably nice that I have since ordered 2 more sets. I didn't want china but these are nice enough for everyday use but fancy enough to put out for company. I would recommend these to anyone who would like high quality, chip resistant, dishwasher safe dishes that look beautiful....they have a nice shine to them and you will not be disappointed. We have already washed them in the dishwasher several times and they come out sparkling. You will feel like you are dining at a hotel! The style is great too - the square shape makes them unique.

I bought these dishes because I have arthritis and picking up heavy stoneware dishes was becoming very painful. I had used Corelle before and knew that they were very light and the whole not braking thing was a bonus. Saying that I have to add that these dished are not as light as the old set I had. They are lighter than the stoneware but only a little. I will use them until it becomes to painful, then I will start my hunt for the lighter ones again.
I wanted to add that they were delivered in good shape and on time. I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon and the only time I have any problems is when dealing with the carriers that ships the merchandise.
