This model features a stainless-steel grinder. Bring the taste of fresh ground pepper to any meal. Fill with whole peppercorns only. Not for use with pre-ground pepper. Do not put in the dishwasher. This 8" MIU pepper mill seems pretty well together, but time will tell the durability. Our most recent pepper mill from Williams and Sonoma gave out after about 6-7 years of regular use -- some of the parts on the business end of that unit were made of plastic, which eventually broke apart. The grinding parts and related support mechanisms on this new pepper grinder are made of metal, so they will likely hold up better. The one lament we have is that control over how fine the grind is not very precise. Otherwise, no complaints.

After researching numerous peppermills at several high end kitchen stores, I decided to purchase this one. Reasonable price, perfect size and great quality. The stainless steel gears grind the peppercorns to the perfect size every time.
