Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
The Steam Storm iron from Hamilton Beach lets you dry iron, steam iron, or vertical steam with clothes right on the hanger. The comfortable design is great for pressing, while the high-power steam system delivers fast and effective vertical steaming for everything from casual wear to kids' clothes. The iron features a 6-ounce water reservoir with a hinged fill-hatch and a translucent design, so it's easy to see when more water is needed. A temperature control dial regulates heat according to fabric type, while a steam knob lets you choose "spray" or "blast" and fine-tune the output. The stainless-steel soleplate resists scratching and heats quickly--it's ready to go in about two minutes. The iron's self-cleaning feature makes it easy to steam out buildup and deposits inside for simple maintenance. Additional handy features include one-hour auto shutoff with easy reset, a pivoting power cord, and an indicator light. --Emily Bedard

5 out of 5 stars perfect iron   September 19, 2008
Joanne E. Frasure (north carolina)
i really like this iron,i travel a lot and need an iron, the small travel irons are just two small, and never get all the wrinkles out,so i decided to try this one,,it's not full sized,so it packs in suit case easily,it steams great, heat and cools quickly.would recomend this iron to every one.

1 out of 5 stars Save your money   April 14, 2008
Emily Lufkin (Basking Ridge, NJ United States)
Save your money, this iron isn't worth it. It leaks, it doesn't get hot enough, and it gets out wrinkles about as efficiently as a hairdryer would. It worked marginally well for just under a year, then it completely died. I don't even need to turn it on for water to leak out when I fill it up. If I turn the steam on I have a lake on my ironing board within 5 seconds.

1 out of 5 stars Totally worthless iron   March 25, 2008
J. Allen (Washington)
The only wonderful thing about this iron is its light weight...the main reason I bought it. It drowns your clothes and the ironing board. You cannot wear the clothes after steaming. DO NOT, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT buy this so-called iron! It doesn't deserve even one star, but rating system forces it.

5 out of 5 stars Best iron for the price   June 2, 2007
Edward N. Levy, Jr. (Westboro, MA)
Having used many models of steam irons over the last 60 years, I found that this model was very good. The Stainless Steel plate is far better that the coated model over the long haul, as the coating will wear away in time, at least in my own experience. The price was light as was the steam iron. A pleasure in both instances.

5 out of 5 stars No Problem Yet   April 30, 2007

I bought Rowenta DA-35 compact iron at BBB today based from the excellent reviews. However, its vertical steaming failed to work -- returned it right away, and got this Hamilton Beach iron. Vertical/horizontal steaming worked perfectly for me -- no leaks or marks to garments. If I start having problems, I'll write an update.
