Product Description ace wrinkles with the confidence of a pro. Armed with 1700 watts of power, vertical steam feature and burst of steam function, this Rowenta Professional Iron is commercially rated for professional use. The large 12-1/2-oz. tank means fewer refills and the covered filling inlet and anti-drip function help prevent spills, spitting and leaking. Iron shuts off automatically if left vertical for 8 minutes. If it falls, or is left horizontally, it shuts off in a quick 30 seconds. Iron is UL listed. Includes water filter.

Excellent Iron September 9, 2008 Sanford R. Alabovitz Excellent product. A little heavy, something a senior might want to think about, but does a great job
Happy Rowenta Customer June 5, 2008 T. Robinson (Alabama United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the second Rowenta Iron I have purchased. I have had this Iron for about a year and a half, maybe longer and could not be more pleased with it's performance. I do all of my own ironing. I have 3 boys and a husband who go through a lot of clothes that need ironing. I would say I probably iron about 6 hours a week maybe more (who really wants to keep track of how long they iron). This iron has stood up to the challenge. It does not leak water unless I overfill the water tank, it has a great burst of steam. When you press the self-clean button calcium deposit come out so your iron will always function at its best. I am a believer in the Rowenta brand and have been for 6 years. I have used other brands before and the Rowenta in my opinion beat them hands down. This particular iron is a little heavy but does not tire your arm out unless you iron all day, then you might be a little sore until you get used to the weight. It does have a sensitive setting for your more delicate clothes. There is also a setting for wool, linen, and synthetics. The water tank is large. Another feature that I like is the auto-shut off, I will sometimes get busy and will leave it plugged in. I would not hesitate to purchase another one should the need every rise. I know that Rowenta has come out with the Advancer and I would really like to purchase it not because I need it but because it is the next grade up. As with anything the better you take care of it the longer it will last. The first Rowneta that I purchased 6 years ago still works great and I use it in my sewing area. Good luck with your decision and purchase.
THE PERFECT IRON May 31, 2008 Gwendolyn Norcross (Atlanta) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Holds a lot of water which means you can iron more than one item before refilling. The steam is very powerful and always works and the steam burst is great for those hard wrinkles in thick items. Auto shut-off is a must for me. You don't have to press down to iron with this one. Self-cleaning is a great feature as well. I have gone through more irons in my life than I can count. This one will last a life time. I've had it over a year and expect it to last me the rest of my life. You get what you pay for!
Heavy and Hot--just what I wanted April 24, 2008 N. Wright (Nashville, TN USA) This was the third iron I've owned in about two years. The other ones broke and were not what I wanted. I wanted an iron that was heavy and, above all, hot. This iron is all that. Hotter than my other two Rowentas, and it can smooth out wrinkles in 100% cotton no problem. The reservoir is a little smaller than some others, but I'd gladly make the tradeoff. Not too many bells and whistles with this one. But if you just want a HOT iron that is heavier than some, this is the one.
Still problems with the cord March 10, 2008 E. Carneiro 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought our DM890 a little over six months ago and thought it was a fine product in terms of effectiveness in ironing. What seemed weird was how the heavy duty cord would become so easily twisted. Last week the twisting became too much for the wiring to bear and the iron shorted out. The cord actually popped (mini explosion if you will) with a slow flame coming out of where the rupture occurred. It was sort of like a burning fuse. Anyway, a check of the warranty shows that it was only good against defects for six months. My wife wanted to try taking it back to Target where we bought it, but I suspect she will have little luck. If the manufacturer is only going to guarantee it for six months, I suspect Target will not be obligated to do anything. For a "professional" model and for the higher price we paid, I would have expected much better.
