Amazon.com Review When is a clock not just a clock? When it provides so much more than just the time: temperature, phase of the moon, and accuracy within one second per year, for example. This handsome wall clock, with its dual LCD screens and black-accented oak finish, is an example of household life being enhanced by science. The WS-8117U can hang on the wall or stand freely, with a built-in, fold-out stand. Radio-controlled time (to the hour, minute, and second) and date are prominently displayed, along with indoor and outdoor temperatures measured in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The day of the week can be displayed in English, French, Spanish or German. Time can be displayed in 12- or 24-hour modes, and time zones from Greenwich Mean Time to -12 GMT can be selected, with three-letter identifications for US time zones. An alarm feature is useful as a timer, and, if the clock happens to hang or stand near a bed (or a couch that's used for napping), a snooze feature allows for gradual wake-up. Moon phase shows in twelve increments, from new moon, through gibbous and crescent phases (waxing and waning), to quarter and finally full moon. The clock comes with La Crosse transmitter TX37U-IT. Clock and transmitter each operate on two AA batteries. For options in wall mounting, three screws and screw anchors and a strong adhesive tape are included. The WS-8117U measures 12-1/4 by 8 by 1-1/4 inches. La Crosse provides a one-year limited warranty on its clocks. Each clock comes with a thoroughly detailed instruction booklet. --Garland Withers

Lacrosse Atomic Clock November 29, 2008 Elaine R. Egeland (Va.) Great clock. I bought 2 clocks and like both of them. I especially like to see the outside temperature and the moon phases. Just put in the batteries and let it go. It will automatally set itself but you have to wait until it receives the signal. It is a little hard to see at night if the lights are low. There should be a back light for night time use. Thinking of getting 2 more clocks. Love knowing the exact time.
Difficult to sync November 25, 2008 S. W. Cantrell (Los Angeles, CA USA) The clock works OK, but it won't sync in the location that we have it. They suggest that the face should look toward Boulder CO, and ours does. However, in one room it syncs in the next room (the one we want) it doesn't! Wish the Atomic features were a little bit more robust.
Excellent...until it can't sync with Colorado November 11, 2008 G. Litwinski (Midland, MI United States) We've had this clock plus another style of same vendor's product for ~ 5 years. Of late the Oak-grain clock has failed to sync with the Colorado atomic clock. It just will not do it. Annoying, as its main benefit is frustrated...still works as a quartz clock, though. The other clock still syncs with Colorado well, but does a poor job of syncing with the outside T probe. Go figure.
CAUTION - Doesn't adjust PST/PDT on the new schedule. October 29, 2008 Earl F. Hale My La Crosse clock does not reset/adjust itself on the new PST/PDT time schedule. We live on the west coast near Watsonville, Ca. The clock resets on the old schedule and there is no way to adjust or correct it. Customer support will not even consider such a problem and suggest putting in a fresh battery, which I did but of course didn't work.
Easy to Use Easy to Read October 18, 2008 Cool Spruce Farm (Ebensburg, PA) This wall clock/weather station is easy to set up,does it itself. It has a large display for those of us with aging eyes. Accurate time and temperature and is there for you in a power outage.
