Why did I wait so long? December 3, 2008 Pigskins (Webster, NY USA) Got these to deal with the Thanksgiving turkey. For years it's been a battle, me vs. turkey. Using napkins, towels, forks, etc. trying to hold the bird to carve it was a real test. Not to mention getting it out of the roaster! With these, I just picked up the bird, put it on the cutting board, and when the time came, secured the bird while carving perfectly. Best carve I've ever done. Can't wait to pull some pork with these on New Years Day. One thing though, and the reason for 4 stars. The insides of the gloves, if they get wet, take forever to dry! Are you not supposed to get the insides wet???
Best heat gloves ever September 18, 2008 Susan R. Sweeney 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered these gloves as I had them before and they are the greatest for handling things off the grill or out of the oven
Cool Hand Pork September 15, 2008 Raijer (San Diego, CA USA) This is the only way to handle hot food, whether right off the grill or right out of the oven. In addition, they're easy to clean as well. No kitchen and/or BBQ pit should be without a pair.
too short August 11, 2008 Mark D. Powell (Seattle Wa) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I ordered these because I had a similar pair which came with the Ronco Rotisserie gizmo. They were perfect for removing meat and carrying but eventually needed to be thrown out. Now I have a smoker and thought the gloves would be good for pulling meat without piercing and too large for tongs. Well they are just a bit too short for my liking.
Decent, but too slippery for pulling pork July 13, 2008 J. A. Lyman (Charlottesville, VA United States) I've had these gloves for about a year. They work well in terms of heat resistance, and they're handy when I need to turn ribs or a big Boston Butt on the smoker. For pulling pork though, they're just too slippery. You can't get a good hold on the meat.
