Product Description Designed for making ice creams, sorbets and frozen drinks, the Lussino Ice Cream Maker produces up to 1.5-quarts of ice cream in less than 30 minutes. This commercial-quality machine has a self-contained freezer-compressor, which enables a variety of homemade frozen desserts to be made with a quick turn-around time between batches. A timer, working in conjunction with the Churn and Chill switch, makes operation simple. Made of heavy gauge stainless steel, this machine includes a removable stainless steel blade. Stainless steel bowl is non-removable, yet easy to clean. Clear lid allows viewing of contents as it processes. Made in Italy. Please Note: Gift Wrapping is not available for this item.
Amazon.com Review Fully automatic and precisely controlled by a timer, this machine takes the trouble and guesswork out of making ice cream, sorbet, frozen yogurt, gelato, and frozen drinks at home. Ingredients go into the bowl, the timer is set, two buttons are pressed and about 30 minutes later 1-1/2 quarts of a frozen confection are ready for consumption. Because the machine doesn't require its bowl to be frozen for hours in a refrigerator's freezer (like less expensive machines that only churn), it can immediately begin making another batch. If a batch becomes too hard the machine shuts off automatically. Not only does it work professionally it looks the part, as the housing, bowl, and paddle are made of stainless steel for sanitation and easy cleaning. The 100-watt machine measures 12 inches wide, 11 inches high, and 18 inches deep, and it weighs 38 pounds. Made it Italy, it carries a one-year warranty against defects. An instruction booklet with many recipes is included. --Fred Brack

Lello 4080 Musso ice cream maker August 19, 2008 T. Piantedosi (Washington, DC) This is a wonderful product! It works exactly as promised and it makes delicious ice cream. Other reviews noted its weight, 38 pounds, so it does indeed stay on the counter. It's attractive there since, aside from the plastic cover, its exterior is entirely stainless steel. It's not the least bit loud. It lacks a removable bowl, so removing the ice cream does take a bit of practice, as does cleaning it, but I've become used to it. I am the first to admit that it's expensive (it cost me about $700), but it's a great investment in good ice cream.

The machine is attractive and looks good remaining on the kitchen counter when not in use. The machine works well. The motor is powerfull. The machine does not have a clutch. My previous machine I could walk away from. When the ice cream base was thick and processed enough, the clutch would shut off the motor preventing damage. With Musso I need to be carefull. If the ice cream base is thick preventing the blade from turning, the motor can be quickly damaged. The original blade had some rust on it despite being stainless steel. I sent it to the company headquarters and received a new one. After one cleaning, the blade had a lot of rust on it. The fit and finish of the blade was not good. I sent it back and received a third blade. The same rust problem occured. The company was somewhat helpfull throughout but indicated rust was rarely an issue. After receiving the second replacement blade, I was accused of doing somethig wrong. Of course no reasonable idea was given and admital was made that the quality of the stainless steel was probably an issue. Since the blades were made at the same factory and no improvement was forseen, that was that.
A Great Machine July 30, 2008 Eric J. Fridman (Baltimore, MD United States) This is the greatest ice cream maker for home use. It makes 1.5 quarts in 30 minutes and the ice cream always turns out delicious.
Ice Cream Heaven! July 29, 2008 orengineer 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this ice cream maker because I love to make homemade ice cream, but I never remembered to pre-freeze the bowl from my cuisinart. The first Musso 4080 machine that arrived didn't chill (1 hour and 10 minutes and still soup). I called Amazon the next afternoon on a Friday and they arranged to pick up the defective one on Monday and a new one was delivered Wednesday morning. I have houseguests and we've been in ice cream heaven since that second machine arrived. I've made 9 different kinds of ice cream/sorbet over the past 2 weeks and they have all been amazing. In only 20-30 minutes, we have the most delicious dessert ever. This is easy to use and makes perfect ice cream every time. Now I keep eggs and cream around as a household "staple". I've found that chilling the mixture and anything you plan to mix in at the end for a couple of hours first gives more consistent freezing times, but even if you don't do that, it still makes great ice cream and sorbet. Last night, I had a half a pineapple left from making fruit salad which I chopped up a pureed, then added 1/2 cup each of sugar and water to make wonderful fat-free pineapple sorbet. Tonight I'm going to try to make something similar with blueberries that we just picked. This machine is expensive, but worth the money.
Outstanding Ice Cream Maker! June 30, 2008 David Q. Ziegler (Springfield, VA United States) This machine is so easy to use and so immediate in delivering excellent home made ice cream. Right out of the box I made two Ben & Jerry's classics, Ben's chocolate and their creamy French Vanilla. It's all in the ingrediants. If you get high-quality cream, milk, and chocolate/vanilla bean etc... This machine will deliver creamy delights that will please the family and guests. It is quiet and attractive and sturdy. I took the gulp, and paid the $700.00 and do not regret it for a minute now.
