Product Description It's like two appliances in one! All the power and versatility you expect from a Cuisinart food processor, combined with a seven speed glass jar blender. You'll be completely equipped to make an Orange Creamsicle Shake or Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake with Raspberry Sauce. The economy of design demonstrated by the SmartPower Duet is impressive, and sure to be especially appreciated by those with limited storage.
Amazon.com Review Two powerful kitchen appliances have been brought together in this blender/food processor by Cuisinart. The heavy-duty motor base is up to both blending and processing tasks, and won't "walk" on the counter, even when it's crushing ice. Use the blender with its dripless pour spout to make and serve 40 ounces of frozen drinks or to purée baby foods or soups; use the processor to prep up to 3 cups of vegetables, cheeses, nuts, and meats. With one motor base, it's simple to keep the blender out on the counter and then bring out the processor attachment for special tasks. This is an amazingly sturdy product, with tight-fitting lids, a heavy glass blender jar, and a motor that chops meat or ice with equal aplomb. Most attachments are dishwasher-safe, and the flat touch pad, which has seven settings (including ice crush and pulse), is easily wiped down with a sponge. This dual appliance comes with a booklet that explains how to use all the features and lists 48 recipes, from cranberry-orange mimosas to classic mayonnaise. --Maria Dolan

OverAll Good March 12, 2010 Maliha I would have given this product 5 Stars but Motor make too much Noise. other than that this is good BUY and get the JOb Done
Cracked after two uses March 11, 2010 Dorrie (Denver, CO) It sounds like a good idea, to combine two appliances on one base, but Cuisinart should really stick to one thing at a time and do it well. We only used the food processor twice. Not only does it slice veggies so thin, they might as well been puree, but more seriously, the plastic bowl cracked from the center where it sits on the spindle. Quite a disappointing product.
worst appliance I've ever owned March 7, 2010 DC gal 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What a piece of junk! I used it maybe four or five times before it broke. I bought it at Costco so I will be taking it back. It is also bone-shatteringly loud, and blends very slowly. Stay away.
Sofa King Loud February 15, 2010 MirMir (Boise, ID) I've had mine for 2-3 months, and I've used it maybe 10 or so times. So far it has continued to work for me, although there are plenty of reviews suggesting the life of the unit is pretty short. I'd have to say my biggest complaint is that hearing protection is needed if you intend to use it as a food processor. Without exaggerating, it makes my ears ring after less than a minute of use. I know that food processors and blenders are inherently louder than regular appliances, but this is louder than most lawn mowers.
Loudest appliance EVER February 14, 2010 Jenn Z (West Palm Beach, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Had high expectations for this brand-name product. Pretty disappointed. The single biggest drawback is the noise. The blender is so loud it scares our pets into hiding. A small jetliner taking off in our kitchen is about the best way to describe it. And for the money, it really doesn't perform above and beyond the most average of blenders/processors. Blending isn't click and go, I find I have to constantly adjust the speed and check the contents a few times and go again before achieving the results I want. Also, while blending or processing, it gives off a slight smell of burning metal -- even after two years of use. As soon as we can garage sale this thing, I'll be buying something else. Something much, much quieter.
