Product Description Once you've ground your own carefully chosen, aromatic coffee beans immediately prior to brewing, it isn't likely you'll willingly return to the bland, dreary workaday world of pre-ground coffee. The Braun KSM2 Coffee Grinder makes this new level of gourmet pleasure possible simply, reliably and with complete safety. 150 watt motor Graduated measuring scale Convenient cord storage Also great for finely chopping nuts Color - WHITE
Amazon.com Review Large enough to grind up to 2-1/2 ounces of coffee beans (enough for 12 cups), this powerful grinder ensures that freshly ground coffee is quickly available, even for big coffeemakers in the office. The details are what make this grinder exceptional: The lid is transparent for monitoring the grind, and has two down-pointing ribs to guide beans toward the blades for even grinding. The design of the stainless-steel blades, combined with the 150-watt motor, means beans can be ground quickly without overheating and spoiling the coffee's taste. For safety, the grinder will not work unless the lid is securely in place and locked down. Finally, the power cord wraps around the grinder's bottom for neat storage. Clad in gleaming white, the grinder carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Great grinder for the price with a couple drawbacks. July 3, 2008 Jack L. Kramer This grinder is great for the price, which is very very low. I haven't had any problems with getting a fine enough grind for my coffeemaker (also a Braun) or fitting enough beans into the grinder to make a good cup of coffee. A couple tips: The grinder seems to be tailored to Braun coffeemakers. If you have a coffeemaker with 6oz cups instead of 5 or one that does 12 cups instead of 10 max you could possibly have capacity issues. The ground coffee seems to stick to the inside of the grinder body. I solved this by unplugging the entire unit, turning it upside down (with the lid on) and tapping it several times against my counter until all the grounds fell into the lid. I took the lid off then and poured that into the filter. It seems like a better method all around.
Great Grinder March 29, 2008 Janet P. Woodworth (Kirkville NY USA) This is the third Braun Coffee grinder I've owned. One had to be replaced after 20 years of rough service and I have another for camp!
I've owned the Braun KSM2 for 8 years now.... February 24, 2008 Meritt (Midwest) I requested a coffee grinder for my birthday in 2000 and received this model (which is listed 4 or 5 different times on Amazon). The blades are sharp and have no problem grinding any quality bean. I've also used it to grind flax seeds beautifully, as well as almonds. My daughter dropped the clear plastic upper portion of the grinder in 2003 and a piece broke off, leaving a 'chip' in the plastic cup but we still continued to use it, just carefully pouring the coffee grounds out and avoiding that side. The grounds, when ground fine (for espresso, etc.) do tend to congregate up around the tiny opening where the power button presses down to start the grind and if clogged, the button won't completely press down. However, in 8 years of owning this, I've only cleaned the tiny opening twice, which was as much work as using the tip of a knife to scribble back and forth and knock the grinds out. It took literally 2 seconds. And cleaning it twice in 8 years isn't bad. The power cord wraps around the bottom which makes it look nicer on the counter. Overall a nice grinder. We are looking for a new one now for two reasons; 1) it would be nice to have a grinder that doesn't have a broken cup (LOL) and 2. It's LOUD. About 6 years ago I regularly just learned to wrap a kitchen hand towel around it before pressing the button to muffle the sound and not wake the children in the early morning as I make coffee about an hour before they wake.
excellent December 7, 2007 Peter P. Buchmueller I am glad being amazon customer, service is fast, accurate, reliable and safe. Thank you amazon Of course Braun product is OK.
not bad October 10, 2007 JP (NYC) it's a decent grinder, although noisy, but my gripe is the size of the container, particularly the bottom part. I have to fill the top cover with coffee beans, then flip the base upside down and fit it into the cover. After grinding I basically have to do the same thing, flip it, tap soundly on the countertop a few times, and then use the cup to fill the coffeemaker. I preferred the Regal I had prior, but it died of old age.
