Product Description Heats popcorn using hot air for dry, healthy and delicious popcorn / As Seen On TV
Amazon.com Review Plug in Presto's PopLite and the party begins. In less than 2-1/2 minutes you'll have up to 18 cups--two large bowlfuls--of fluffy popcorn with virtually no unpopped kernels. And because the machine uses hot air instead of oil, the resulting snack is healthier and lower in calories. That's not to say you can't add butter; in fact, the 1/2-cup measuring cup on top of the popper doubles as a butter melter. Simply put in the desired amount of margarine or butter (room temperature is best), and it melts from the heat produced during the popping process. The clear plastic cover and cup, which must stay on during popping so the popped corn doesn't fly all over the room, easily remove for hand cleaning with warm, soapy water. No other clean-up is required. While a few unpopped kernels spring out the chute as the machine begins to heats up, the chute does a good job of directing the popped corn into a bowl. The popper measures 14 by 9 by 6-1/2 inches, and is identical to Presto's Orville Redenbacher Hot Air Corn Popper except for color and logo. Presto covers the PopLite with a two-year warranty. --Ann Bieri

Great kitchen appliance June 27, 2008 Sara Kruger (New York) This popcorn popper is terrific. It is very easy to use and makes great, healthy popcorn.
Very happy with this corn popper June 19, 2008 K. Andrews My son has been asking for a hot air corn popper for at least a year now, so I finally bought this for him and was quite pleased with the flavor quality of fresh hot air popcorn vs. microwave popcorn. I also like the ability to control the salt, butter, and other seasonings so easily. A neighbor girl came over and asked for cinnamon sugar popcorn which was easy to whip up, and had I not had this popper there's not a chance in the world I would have had microwave cinnamon sugar popcorn on hand. The other benefit is that hot air popped corn is healthier than microwave popcorn, and costs significantly less. We did end up with a few unpopped kernals, but that's to be expected. The plastic butter melter didn't wash up too well in the dishwasher, so that had to be washed by hand. Since purchasing this we've made all kinds of gourmet flavored popcorn with the on hand seasonings and even purchased a bottle of nacho cheese flavored seasoning. Parmesan cheese works well also.
Finally - a popper that works! June 19, 2008 Pamela J. Sharp (Port Vue, PA United States) I am an avid backyard birder, and my outside birds love popped popcorn. Purchasing microwave popcorn was getting expensive, so I purchased one of those microwave popcorn bowls. The bowl lid burned after one use, and the bowl became horribly stained - not to mention that half of the kernals were left unpopped. I purchased the Presto 04820, and I was so relieved at how efficiently it worked, with nearly every kernal popped! I have used it on average of four times per day since I purchased it, and it keeps on delivering time after time. I highly recommend this product.
Hot Air Popcorn Popper Nostalgia worth every cent! June 18, 2008 Alan Bleiweiss I don't care for microwave popcorn. First, it's just so much popcorn per bag, and for those days when I just want a few handfuls, most goes to waste. Then there's the fact that if I'm with a lot of people, having to pop individual micro-bags seems silly. So I got on the web and looked for the hot air poppers - just like the one I had decades ago. Because NONE of the local stores carry them any more! Well I did the research and found the PopLite. It looks just like the one I remember from all those years ago. They're effortless to use. In the same time or less than it takes to micro a bag, I can get hot freshly popped corn - as much or as little as I want to make at the time. The best part of all this was the fact that there's an Orville Redenbacker Popper that is actually the very same model as this Presto 4820 but costs MORE money! (Why would I pay more money to get the Orville Redenbacker brand on the side of the very same popper?) I had originally found the Orville version out on the web but when I found the Presto, and compared them to be sure, I laughed and saved a few bucks! I'm very happy with the product.
Works well but with difficulty June 13, 2008 K. J. Morelli Pops quickly, but the cover easily slips off if you tip the unit slightly (To help the kernels enter the bowl). You end up with popped and unpopped kernels everywhere. Many kernels get blown out unpopped, so it's a bit more wasteful than pan popping. I need to cut down on fats, though, so this is a decent compromise. It definitely needs an on/off switch!
