Product Description All-purpose kettle for stews, roasting and steaming. Fully submersible with Control Masterheat control removed. Heavy cast aluminum body with non-stick surface inside and out. Lift-and-drain basket for steaming. Cast aluminum base with non-stick surface inside and out. Glass cover, metal basket with handle. Removable heat control. 1300 watts
Amazon.com Review Made of heavy cast aluminum with a nonstick surface inside and out, this multipurpose cooker with lift-and-drain basket simmers soups and stews, browns and roasts meats, boils corn on the cob and other vegetables, steams fish and rice, and deep fries shrimp and other foods. And in addition to its everyday versatility, the cooker can be washed in the dishwasher after simply removing the heat control. The glass lid is also dishwasher-safe. For safety, the cooker comes with a short 30-inch cord with a magnetic coupler that attaches to the heat control; if jostled, the cord detaches at the magnetized point to help prevent the kettle from being overturned. An easy-turn knob on the heat control adjusts the cooking temperature from warm to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Two large handles make the cooker easy to lift, and four sturdy legs keep the heat off the countertop. The cooker measures 9 inches in diameter and stands 7-1/2 inches tall. For best results, wash the pot before first use and season with cooking oil. Presto covers the cooker with a two-year warranty. --Ann Bieri

Excellent October 24, 2008 M. Cannon (SLC) This product makes me so excited I can hardly get to sleep at night. Frying was our goal, and the basket makes it easy and safe. It heats up fast, and is a steal for about $25 at Wal-Mart. When comparing to other products, the Presto Kitchen Kettle gives you more volume for your dollar. One feature of the product (both good and bad), is the weak magnet in the power cord. It breaks away with almost no force if you trip over the cord, or whatnot. However, it makes setup slightly more difficult, as the cord breaks away (or falls off) fairly easily.
Great as a fryer September 13, 2008 Drew Bought this guy to replace a fryer that cost more than twice the price and this one is easier to use and does a better job than the other one I had (and gave away). I'm looking forward to using it for other things now that the cooler weather is on its way. It also cleans up very easily.
COOKS ALMOST EVERYTHING PERFECT July 30, 2008 P. Romano (Miami,FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Got one of these for Christmas thinking it was just another gadget to stuff away in the back of the cabinet. Not so. I use it 2 or 3 times a week. I've fried fish, shrimp, fries, green tomatoes and chicken with excellent results but I mainly use it for slow cooking. Soups, stews, meatballs, fajitas, even stir fry dishes. To me what it cooks best is pasta. It takes a while for the water to come to a boil but once it does it stays at a boil and you never have to adjust the temperature like on a stove. Plus it is 110v instead of 220v. I even made a meatloaf in it. It also fits in the fridge easily as well as the dishwasher.
Very practical and efficient July 27, 2008 James T. Hammond (Upstate, NY) I use this multi kettle cooker mostly as a deep fryer. Although it doesn't have designer appeal it really does the job in the kitchen.
Presto Kettle July 1, 2008 P. Johnson (Pengilly, MN USA) Have a "Dazy" kettle with a crock insert, used for twenty years to deep fry and slow cook. This is almost the same thing, the crock fits it. I lost the lid for the Dazy, so recently purchased this 06000 for a counter kettle, cooking raw shrimp, soup, chili, just about anything you would cook on a stove top. Walmart had it @ $19.xx. Buy one, no regrets!! The travel thing is not something I would use. If you need to transport a hot meal, just put it in a small cooler.
