Good product, helpful customer service August 24, 2010 Susan I bought this food processor a little over 3 years ago and have been very happy with it the whole time.
About a week ago, I had a problem where it wasn't assembled properly and turned on anyway: it should not have been able to do this, it damaged itself and posed a safety hazard in doing so. I called Customer Service, and explained the problem, and, within 10 minutes, the helpful representative on the line had agreed that it shouldn't do that, and that they would send me a new unit, along with a prepaid shipping label with which to ship back the damaged unit and that it should arrive in 3-5 days.
A company can't entirely prevent malfunctions. This is the best customer service experience I have had in years. I recommend KitchenAid products on the strength of this experience alone.
Great Performer! August 21, 2010 Texas Hokie After reading some of the reviews about liquid limitations I almost passed on buying this model. Then I looked over some other brands of food processors and found they all have a similar type of design where the inside spindle does not go all the way to the top. I also agree with other reviewers that for processing large quantities of liquids, a blender is the proper tool. Just realize that the 12-Cup capacity is not for pure liquids.
Once I decided on the Kitchenaid, I went back and forth on purchasing the 12-cup or 9-cup model. The 12-cup includes a second slicing disc as well as a storage tray which is very convenient to keep all the accessories organized. These two items are well worth $20-25 difference in price.
I now wonder how I every got away with having an old mini-size food processor all these years. I anticipate this being a much-used appliance in the years to come!
nice addition to the kitchen August 16, 2010 Don W. Myers (Bethlehem, GA) I bought the KitchenAid Food Processor for my wife, after she kept eyeballing them while we were out shopping. I wasn't sure how much it would actually get used, but after being amazed with other KitchenAid products, I figured it would be well worth the cost. We use it a lot, and it is something that is great to have when you need it. Sometimes it is tempting to get out the old mandolin slicer for really small job, but the food processor gets used a lot. I've found it can't be beat for most jobs, including making pesto and other sauces. If you do any canning or large meal prep, you'll wonder how you ever did it without the KitchenAid Food Processor.
One note I'll add is use caution when cleaning the blades. they are easy to clean without getting cut, but if you just throw them into a sink full of water and reach in blindly to fish it out, you may get cut. Not the fault of the machine, but I thought it would be worth mentioning that caution should be exercised when cleaning the parts. Cleanup is fairly simple, and the materials used in it's construction come clean with no hassles.
KitchenAid KFP750CR 12 cup food processor August 15, 2010 B. Moore (Lincoln, CA, US) This food processor does everything I want it to do and it does it exceptionally well. I find that I use it very often for mixing, chopping, stirring, etc. I really like the small bowl for processing small amounts. I've had other food processors and really didn't like them for many reasons so I hardly ever used them. Although it is true that liquids will seep out if the volume is greater than the top of the post, that is a minor inconvenience considering how well it does everything else. If I am going to do a large volume of liquid, I'll use my blender.
Good product for the price you deserve a better made product August 8, 2010 D. Noyes (Ashland, Oregon United States) I have had this food processor for a 3 years and right a way the plastic on the handle cracked in the first year. I only use it at the most maybe once every two months. We use ours mainly for holiday and large amounts of slicing, etc. I was putting in some cheese for pizza and it striped the plastic shaft that turns the blades. Yes the main piece for mixing and turning the blades is plastic. Why I don't know. I had an oster kitchen center for 18 years and nothing ever disapointed me with it. My husband bought me this kitchen aid as we thought it was a step up. Sad to say I wish I had my oster center back. I thought I would call kitchen aid and they were not helpfull at all. They said the 1 yr warrenty is up. It is 3yrs old. For the Money I was so dissapointed
