5 out of 5 stars Happy Baker   August 22, 2008
Terryl L. Pugh (Frankfort, IL United States)
I used this mixer 4 times during the first week. I really like it! If you read the instructions, there are no problems with inserting the blades correctly. The bowls are just the right size and the motor has plenty of power for mixing. Summer baking has been a breeze with this mixer.

5 out of 5 stars Sunbeam 2371 Mixmaster Stand Mixer   August 18, 2008
J. Lafortune (Yakima, Washington)
I am very pleased with my new mixer and know I've made an excellent purchase. It's heavier duty than my previous Sunbeam stand mixer that I had for about 14 years before it "died." My new mixer has a deeper bowl so the beaters are a little harder to remove without getting some batter on the edge of the bowl...have to remember to slide the bowl over to the smaller bowl position to prevent this. And, I'm getting used to pushing the button to raise and lower the beaters instead of just grabbing the top handle and raising and lowering them. I am very, very happy with my new mixer! :-)

5 out of 5 stars great mixer, great deal   August 16, 2008

I love this mixer. It is quiet and efficient. I can't imagine a Kitchen Aid being $250.00 better.

5 out of 5 stars great value for the price   August 10, 2008
Ellen J. Jefferies (Pataskala, OH United States)
After hard thought, I just bought this to replace a Sunbeam 2366 purchased a couple of years ago, which looks identical except for the size of the motor. My 2366 became unusable as a stand machine because I was too rough trying to attach the mixer to the stand and broke the rather fragile plastic thingies in the stand that supported the attachment lever (so I'll be more careful with the new one). If I'd paid $500, I would be deeply disgruntled.

But I didn't pay $500, I paid $79, and my simple math tells me I can buy 6 of these for the cost of one KitchenAid with metal gears (do read the reviews about the plastic gears if you are seriously looking at the less expensive KitchenAid!). If this machine is as good as its predessor, it will do as fine a job of mixing as my daughter's KitchenAid, it's head tilts, and you can add ingredients while it's running, all of which are important to me. I do not do bread with it, I use my incredible $39 Sunbeam bread machine for that.

Yes, the Mixmaster is less prestigious than a KitchenAid, yes, you can spatter stuff on the ceiling with it, and yes, you have to attend it or it can get up enuf spin speed to empty the bowl (an awesome experience). Yes, the bowls are heavy and I have gotten smears on my shirt pouring batter into a pan.

But altogether, I think it's a great machine for the price and deserves the 5 stars I gave it!

1 out of 5 stars Soooo. sooooo bad   July 2, 2008

After I bought it I told my daughter and she said that she got one 4 years ago and it did not work. I thought that they would have had to improve it by now. First of all the beaters do not have a shaft going throiugh the middle and a tiny bolt holds them together at the bottom. This seems to weaken the beaters. I tried to cream butter and it threw the butter out of the bowl in chunks. It was sooooo bad. I was very digusted at how badly it preformed...... nothing like the older mixmasters. I took it back and ordered some older models from Ebay to give as gifts for my kids. Even the refurbished ones that are from the 40s or 50s would definately be better to purchase than this terrible, but attractive piece of work! ...
