Overflow of grounds August 24, 2008 Steven D. Sanders (Baltimore, MD) I was anxiously brewing my first pot of coffee with my new Bunn only to find that the grinds were overflowing the brew funnel. According to the manual, use of decaffeinated, fine grid coffee and/or softened water may cause an overflow of grounds into your decanter. I have ordered a flow restrictor sprayhead free of charge but now have to wait for it to arrive before I can again try to get my first Bunn pot of decaffeinated coffee. Not a good first impression. Edit - The flow restrictor arrived promptly and after an easy swap out the Bunn is brewing as it should. Would rate product as 4 stars.
Awful quality, RIP OFF return service misleading... June 7, 2008 Vandora Mack (IL United States) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought a BUNN coffee maker at the middle of last year and paid a premium for what I was told was a Superior Coffee maker. I had followed all the manufactures care instructions to make sure the product was well maintained. Six months after ownership the product broke. When we finally got a hold of someone in their costumer service department we were told that we had to pay to ship the item (at our cost) back to them. The instructions that we were given by their return center was to package the item in a box and return to them and that they would send us out another unit, they said that we did not need to retain any return authorizations or worry cause there was a record of our call with our name and address with the products "date number". This is important cause if a record of the "date number" is not retained then there is no proof of the items history. We returned the unit in March of 08 and were told that it would be 6-8 weeks for a return unit to be sent out to us... Well in June when a return was not received we called asking where our return product was and were told that because we didn't have the "date number" , which is only on the unit itself, which the return center didn't tell us retain. And also we had no tracking UPS number (which the facility told us was not required, even when asked) And that there was never a record of our calling the company in the first place. Then they said they could only offer us a $68.50 cent "trade in" value, basically a refurbished unit. This is for a coffee maker that was only 6 months old and that we had already paid $100.00 for! We are contacting the better business bureau and Sears (were we bought the unit at) to seek further restitution.
Bunn BX-B Coffee Brewer June 6, 2008 Sharon (Pittsburgh) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is not my first Bunn. The one I just replaced gave us many years of faithful service. The reason I made this purchase is the age of the old one and an occasional strange noise. I did not want to get caught without a coffee pot. The new Bunn arrived very quickly and I am pleased with the way it looks. However, the quality is not the same as the old one. Also this pot sprung a leak after a few weeks of using it. I will probably have to replace this one much sooner than the last one. I will see what else is on the market at that time. Since I wrote this review we contacted Bunn about the leak problem. They promptly replaced the pot with a new one. I would highly recommend dealing with the Bunn Company. We love our new pot.
The last American coffee maker May 31, 2008 R. RAUCINA (Yosemite Natl. Park) The fastest and the bestest. This is a classic and with good reason - they go for years and make great coffee.
Fast, tasty coffee. April 27, 2008 Melisande (Chandler, Arizona United States) We had to replace an inexpensive coffee maker recently, and we hit the local restaurant supply place to look for something a bit more heavy duty. This is what we found and it's terrific. It brews quickly and our coffee never tasted better. From the inexpensive daily coffee to the good stuff on the weekends every pot tastes better, and it's hot and no longer bitter. We brew 1-2 pots a day, and so we've never had a problem with the tank boiling empty. The pause and serve hasn't been a concern though you do want to be sure to put the carafe back before closing the lid. Overall we'd reccommend this to anyone who drinks a lot of coffee.
