5 out of 5 stars After 56 years, my Sunbeam finally passed on...   November 23, 2008

I bought my beloved Sunbeam at an auction for 25 cents about 8 years ago. It has led a happy life, spoiling me and - no doubt - its previous owner(s) with perfect toast, slice after golden slice. I had to find another one that would, hopefully, last another 56 years! I read all the customer comments and opted for the Haier. It's a dandy, both in style and function. Toasts beautifully and looks great on my counter top with its classic 50's styling. I couldn't be happier with my choice and the price is unbeatable. I strongly recommend you consider this toaster if you want top quality at a fair price. As for my Sunbeam...it deserves a rest after so many years of perfect toast.

The Haier is a fine little toaster, a little overpriced, but pretty much what we were looking for. Only complaint--wish it had a four-slice capacity.

Always Searching

I did some searching of various reviews of older-style looking toasters and this suited my price range and had enough features too. The cancel button is nice as you learn how high to turn the dial for toast etc. and with the english muffin or bagel setting you can toast the inside but not the crusty part....sweet! It takes a short while, but better that than constantly burning things like our old toaster (or waiting an eternity like our toaster-oven) it seems well regulated in the levels of toasting if you follow what I mean. There's a frozen button we have yet to explore- we have only had it a couple weeks if that, but also I like the medium size very much- not too large on the counter... hope that helps. PS:- it was sent immediately- terrific job!

5 out of 5 stars Nice looking toaster   November 18, 2008

I have used this toaster 6 times and I love it. Seems to work better than my old 7 year old toaster that finally kicked the bucket it a flash of fire. I took to walmart after that and bought a GE toaster that exploded on me during the test toast - which I returned. Then I ordered the racecar red chef pepin toaster from target in May and it never arrived- I think it was discontinued, but they still send me updates on my order! So I am relieved to have something in my kitchen that works well and looks very industrious. It is wider than it looks but it does not get too hot on the sides so it can be moved after use (only the sides). I usually use the 3 dial and that makes light brown toast. The bagel button is a cool function too. The toaster fits average to larger sizes of bread. I can't complain - and I hope this one lasts.

Didn't think a toaster would look that sharp on the counter and it does a great job as well.
