0 stars. Black and Decker blender. The absolute worst on the market August 8, 2008 E. Isaacson (Anywhere, US) Worst kitchen appliance ever produced. It is like grandmas wooden dentures. This blender will only mix things that are already liquid or soft. Will not chop ice, can't make a frozen drink. I put mine out in the hall for my neighbors -- 'Motor works, but this thing is useless. Take at the risk of extreme frustration.'
Strike three. Don't buy this blender. June 8, 2008 S. Shortnacy (Tejas) I have bought this same blender 3 times. The first time one of the plastic parts broke but I gave the brand the benefit of the doubt and tried it again. The second time the motor burned up. They improved the blender so the motor turns off if the blades get jammed. So I bought it again and the bolt holding the blades eventually striped itself down. Each time the blender broke within a year. I've never buying this brand again.

Caveat emptor! Buyer beware! April 26, 2008 Helen A. Hund 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Buyer beware! This blender cannot make smoothies or daquiris! What else would you make with a blender? The blades broke after 6 months and the motor smoked. One cannot obtain parts from the Black and Decker website because it refuses to recognize model number, part number, or item description. I give this product 1 star!
Great Customer Service- Horrible Product June 9, 2007 David Kenneth Caudill (Hendersonville, Tennessee United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought a BL9000 at a retailer here in town, and it just simply stopped working one day. The LCD came on, but it was like the membrane switches weren't connected. So I emailed B&D and they were nice enough to under promise and over deliver- they told me I'd have to pay to ship my unit to them, fill out a form etc etc. But then a few days later, I hear my FedEx man plop a brand new BL3900 on my steps! Wow! I was so impressed. And then, I turned it on. And it broke- immediately. So B&D sent me ANOTHER! I haven't opened blender #3 yet, but I bet I know where this is headed! The people at B&D put me on hold forever, but were very nice and very effective when I talked to them. It's the people in their quality control department that deserve a slap upside the head. I can't believe they continue to put their name on a product that is so obviously DEFECTIVE. My other kitchen appliances by Applica/B&D are great- but I'll sure be wary of buying anything else this expensive. Their excellent customer service department has been their saving grace for at least one customer!
