Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
The Cuisinart Mini-Prep food processor stands 8 inches tall and just over 4 inches wide, but don't let the size fool you. The base houses a motor so powerful that you need to stabilize it with one hand when using the high setting to whip up a strawberry-banana smoothie for one in less than a minute. The clear plastic prep bowl locks into place with a simple twist, while the blades can be set sharp side up for chopping onions or grating Parmesan cheese, or turned blunt side up for making walnut pesto or whipping up chocolate frosting. The set includes a spatula and a cleaning brush to remove coffee grounds.

For best results, cut ingredients into small, even pieces--about 1/2-inch square or so works well. In general, use the sharp-edge approach for low speed and the blunt side of the blades for high speed. If you need to run the motor for longer than one minute, pause and begin again. The bowl, cover, and blade assembly can all be run through the dishwasher, but watch your fingers when dissembling the machine, as the blades are extremely sharp. --Irene Svete

Editor's note: This is a reconditioned small appliance. Reconditioned generally means that the appliance has been returned to the manufacturer, who returns the appliance to like-new condition. Some appliances may contain cosmetic blemishes.

4 out of 5 stars Cute and functional   November 29, 2008
Samantha H. (San Francisco, CA)
This is a really cute little food processor. I bought it as a companion to my large 14 cup Cuisinart processor, and because it was so inexpensive at about $13 for the factory reconditioned model. I wanted to be able to chop a smaller amount of stuff like onions etc., without using and then cleaning the large processor. It has been a decent buy -- not nearly as versatile (of course) as the large one, but it mostly does the job. The only complaint I have is that it sometimes leaves large chunks that you have to reprocess after scooping the properly processed stuff out. Also, it makes a high pitched noise and can give off a funny metal smell. I don't know if that's normal, but it hasn't blown up yet! At about $13, it can't be beat, but I don't think I'd have bought it if it had cost more than $20.

3 out of 5 stars Mini-prep processor   August 29, 2008

The mini-processor does a great job chopping things up, it's just too small for the big chopping jobs that I need. I will definintely invest in a bigger version.

4 out of 5 stars Perfect for baby food   August 29, 2008

Works perfect for baby food.
Would suggest to chop small and cooked veggies

I wouldn't suggest it for anything else

4 out of 5 stars Perfect for small kitchens/spaces   August 23, 2008

I think that I have the smallest kitchen in the world, two people in there and you will become intimate. There was no problem for this little processor to find it's place on the counter, it's foot print is only 4 1/2" x 4 1/2". I also need to say that I bought it as a refurbished model, the price was so good that I could not refuse. Warning! that little blade is sharper that it looks, trust me and my finger when I tell you that.

5 out of 5 stars Good power and great bang for buck   August 7, 2008

I got this for $13 on a slickdeal. It easily replaced my other mini processors I got on black fryday for $10. It's several times more powerful easily, even at low setting. The great thing about the gem is that it's really easy to clean compared to it's 11 cup big brother, which i also have.

So I end up using this for small stuff - nice omlettes, chopped onions, garlic, etc. Basically, good for 2 people cooking w/minimal cleaning pain. (heck it even ground up ice for cocktails, even though i think i'm not supposed to use it for that)

I wish there was a way to keep it locked on a setting rather than keeping the buttom depressed the whole time so i wouldn't have to just stand there. But I'm lazy and i expect the product i buy to enable me to be a lazier person :)
