leaking carafe on 8 cup stainless November 29, 2008 D. Moody (texas) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Could not figure out why the Carafe dripped coffee when pouring!!! Looked closely at it and found that it is leaking between the plastic and the stainless......what a mess! Do not purchase this item!
Fine Coffeemaker November 27, 2008 Purrson (California) I needed to replace a Bunn coffeemaker. Even though it made great coffee and was super speedy, I was fed up. In just three years there had been two recalls, and then one morning it had leaked water all over the counter. Enough already! After lots of research, this looked as if it was what I wanted. Even though it would take longer to brew coffee than the Bunn, it had a thermal carafe and a timer. I made the right choice. This makes hot delicious coffee which stays hot and fresh long enough to last through the morning. I am pleased.
A great coffee maker for the price November 17, 2008 Andrew D. Carter 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I originally had a 4-cup coffee maker with a stainless steel carafe. It did the job, but would not stop leaking during pours. I was a bit skeptical of the DCM2590 because of the price, but I was wrong. While eight cups may seem a bit much, the thermal carafe has kept coffee I made in the morning warm until after work! Plus, not a single drip out of the carafe! The coffee tastes great and is quite hot. Highly recommended purchase.
Worth every penny October 10, 2008 D. Woodhouse (Saint Paul, MN United States) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Picked this model up at the Home Depot on sale well over a year ago, and has worked fine ever since. Switched to a carafe because I was tired of my Braun burning my coffee after the first cup (and the Braun glass carafe really sucks at pouring). This machine gets the coffee hot enough for my liking and stays hot for a hour or two. In a pinch, I've even found microwaving the coffee much later quite tolerable (thanks to the lack of air and a burning hot plate). One issue, if you don't put the carafe in straight, it won't sit perfectly and will leak on the countertop - because the no-spill lever will think the carafe isn't there and fill up the basket. If you can pull out the carafe without feeling a little resistance from the ring in the base, you need to reinsert it. Otherwise, I noticed a difference in my electric bill after switching! Probably paid for the coffeemaker at this point.
