Product Description Juice, puree, blend and frappe like a pro. This Waring Specialty Bar Blender offers an impressive 3 horse power motor that spins at 30,000 rpm's, just like the ones at your favorite smoothie or juice bar. The lightweight, polycarbonate container holds up to 64 ounces. Use this Waring blender to make an orange and pineapple juice combo, a blended coffee drink, a rich and thick shake or to puree ingredients for soups or sauces. Choose High, Low and Pulse settings.
Amazon.com Review Just the size and weight of this blender indicates it is a professional grade workhorse. Weighing 15 pounds and standing 19 inches tall, with an oversized base measuring 9 inches square, the blender takes on a prodigious appearance. The supercharged three-horsepower motor and large blades will crush ice with ease and smoothly blend fruit drinks and soups. Only two speeds, high and low, are available, which should cover most needs. The pulse feature is ideal for creating large-particle foods such as homemade salsa and gazpacho. Squared in shape, the tough polycarbonate pitcher features a very generous nonslip handle and holds 64 ounces of cold liquid, less if hot. The flexible lid presses tightly in place and features a central clear cap that turns and releases to open for adding foods. Two paddle-shape switches make operation easy even if hands are wet. The removable pad that covers the top of the blender base to add nonslip cushioning for the pitcher can be tossed in the dishwasher for cleaning. The four broad legs of the blender are also made of nonslip material to help prevent sliding and make pick-up secure. Because the blade assembly does not unscrew from the pitcher for separate cleaning, the blender pitcher should be washed thoroughly with hot soapy water and a soft scrub brush after each use. Waring covers the blender with a two-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

The Perfect Blend July 9, 2008 D. Ortego Excerpt from my Epinions Review By: Digital Dude Ok, the first thing you have to deal with is the fact that you just spent an inordinate amount of money on a countertop appliance. Anyway, after you get over that, things do get better. I opted for the 3.5hp MX1200 Extreme but not because of the power bump, but because I wanted the analog variable speed control. Aside from that; it's nearly the same as the MX 1000. As for the speed dial? It was a bit of a gamble since these units are not readily available where you can look, touch and feel, so my selection was based primarily on printed data and gut instinct. The dial provides very smooth and gradual increase or decrease of the blender that is graduated from 1 to 10 and ranging from 1500 to 2000 RPM. Likewise, it includes the large paddle On/Off/Pulse switches. Do I think the speed dial is actually worth the extra 165-bucks? Well, it does provide me with a better sense of control for certain blends, so most definitely! Anyway, the MX1000 unit is plenty overkill for most home kitchen fanatics so don't overlook this more reasonably priced unit. Besides, if you think that 400-bucks is high for the MX1000; try the 1200~series and you will feel like you got off cheap! As such, do not expect any included fanfare like a recipe book or cute little accessories. Based on comments regarding the slightly overwhelming appearance, I opted for the 48-ounce version since I did not need the higher volume, and it is 2-inch shorter so it actually fits under my kitchen cabinetry. As such, it tones down the countertop landscape while being easier on the eyes. BTW, if you want the 64-oz jar later on, you can order it as an accessory. Noise: Well, it is not near as loud as my less expensive Cuisinart, though Waring does offer a sound dampening enclosure. Even with my old hundred-dollar blender, I used hearing protection so this is not anything new. Either way, it was a pleasant surprise since I expected a lot more noise. Here are a few things I considered before purchasing. Design & Support: Despite all of the hype; the proverbial kitchen blender is a fairly basic concept. It consists of a Jar, Propeller and Motor, all combined to create a vortex to evenly circulate the contents in the container for a desired result. Some have programmable features to govern speed while others are more straightforward. * Round or narrow jars appear to rely on a pulsing vertical vortex and blends smaller content items very well. * Square jars permit larger items to be inserted with less preparation. * Cloverleaf jars fall in between and rely on directionality to force the contents back into the propeller. * Performance, Ease of Use, and Product Support (spare parts, accessories, etc.) are all important aspects to consider. Customer Service: If you can call a toll-free number and actually talk with a live person (in your language) and they actually know the product, then that's a big plus. Warranty: The best warranty is the one you never have to use although if you do have an issue, then a 2-3 year parts/labor provision is reasonable. Advice: Read the "customer reviews" on each blender that you're considering, paying particular attention to what people like and don't like'. Always read and follow the manufactures safety precautions and warnings. Keep in mind that raw power of the motor is only part of the equation to a good blender, and that features, style and durability will determine your overall satisfaction. The Bottom Line: If you blend smoothies or any other stuff on a regular bases, or you're simply a quality geek, then you may love this blender as much I do. Regards, ~DD
Waring MX1000R Is A Workhorse July 21, 2007 John R. Danzeisen (Centreville, DE United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Having arrived back from a Costa Rica, I wanted to continue the enjoyment of making frozen drinks. This Waring blender is the best I've ever had, or seen. It is large, powerful and very well made.Yes it's noisy but not for long, and the results are worth every roar! This is the blender for those who are serious.
Stopped working after just 2 months May 7, 2007 Romeorose (Albany, New York) 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
I bought this Waring MX1000 because of all the good reviews it had here at Amazon. I thought I was getting the best. Boy was I disappointed. Everybody else seems to love it. Pros: Powerful. Cons: Expensive, loud. It's a commercial model so don't expect any recipes whatsoever, or intructions or ideas on how best to use the machine. There's no warranty card so make sure you keep the receipt from the company you bought it from. The manual, if you can call it that, is a sparse two sheets of stapled copy paper. It's bulky. And it stops running entirely after two months of normal use. I did not abuse the machine, unless using it to crush ice is abuse. I was ready to give it 3 stars until it stopped working. Motor death. It might be a lemon. People who are expert blenders and who know exactly what to do with a powerful blender they've never used before might be happy with this one. Just as long as they don't need a smidgeon of instructions. For me, I'm supposed to get an RMA and a refund shortly. I think I'll go with Blend-tec or Vitamix now. In the meantime I'm alone and blenderless.
Last Blender you'll ever need January 18, 2007 Chicago Resident (Chicago, IL) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Bulky, noisy and takes up lots of space - BUT it is the greatest drink mixer you'll ever buy. My wife is the queen of frosty drinks. With this blender the ingredients don't separate half-way through your drinking pleasure. Our old mixer, also touted as a professional blender, caused the ingedients to separate in the glass after about 3 minutes. Have not seen that happening after this blender get's through doing its job. Crushes ice without cringing and is esstially oblivious to anything thrown in, just blends everyting into a great pulp. Highly recommended for the serious frosty drinker.
